Aha! Here's one I can help you with ... IYKWIM is If You Know What I Mean!
The patch - that might be an idea.... I could possibly make it a little craft project .... but, tbh, I'm more inclined to see first if they'll take it back - it only cost £7, I don't really want to put that sort of work in on an item like that .... but I might do! Ta....
Naaah.. keep it.. you is down with the kids.. innit :rotfl:
Well you are doing a good job of sounding organised! Sorry to hear you've not got so much work coming your way though.. or is that a good thing?
As long as you're managing OK. Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Glad I *sound* it. It used to be a good thing that there was less work coming my way - but now, even having cut back as much as I have, I'm about £150 a week under my breakeven point, I reckon - I can't go on like that too long, its a bit serious actually. DFW work is not covering it, of course, its not do-able. But I now have a cunning plan - retrain a little, via a couple of seminars (after all, I have 25 years experience!!) to do shorter term work, and go for short term clients via a government sponsored scheme. Still self employed, but sort of on contract. The hourly rate won't be as much as my own rate per hour, but massively more than anything I can do via DFW, except *some* matched bets. We'll see.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I am glad you have a cunning plan and it does sound rather cunning.:T
I really must get my head round the matched betting it is the only thing left I think that I haven't tried that might earn some decent money some things I have knocked on the head because the time expended for the reward was ridiculous and definitely affected my life balance I still do some mystery shopping but I am more picky now. I really could do with going back to work but round here that is probably not going to happen because my Welsh isn't good enough
and I have been out of the scene for 12 years so would have to retrain and confidence is low. I would prefer to work from home really but doing what? and that doesn't really pay well. Sorry I should be pondering this on my diary not hijacking yours.

DT, thats no hijack, just a continuation - even if it was, hijack away, I've done enough in my time! I think we have similar issues in a way (except the Welsh, lol, no call for that south of London).
Thanks for the cunningness appreciation (I've decided cunningness is a word
). I've declined a meeting at the beginning of July so I can go on a day seminar locally on brief, solution-focussed therapy, which is the thing I was on about above - I'm breaking my self imposed challenge of doing all my Continuing Professional Development free of charge this year, but I think its worth it.
If you can get your head around the matched betting, I'd certainly advise you to go for it. I've never added up exactly what I've got from it, but it must be around £1500, and thats doing it in a not-very-serious way.
The other stuff - I'm fiddling about with catching a few remaining ipoints, mutualpoints, lightspeed and bingoport posts to get a voucher and then dropping them, as you say, the time expended is ridiculous. I'll do free scratchcards still, but not free bingo. I'll do yougov and toluna surveys, but nothing else. It does definitely affect your life balance - it affected my emotional balance at one stage, before I pulled back, I was exhausted. I do feel for you wanting to go back into the jobs market after that sort of break in this economic environment. Ow ow ow ..... there is one job tho, that *might* suit - Duchy, on here, does it. If you see this post in the next few minutes, I'm finding the link to the thread, its completely legit - its like being a Customer Service Advisor, as far as I can make out. Here I am. The one I was thinking of in particular is the third one:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1688305
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=576173
The first two are stuff I subscribed to when thinking about a website idea, but I threw them in now just in case - as far as income from a website/blogging/forum is concerned, maybe there's something you have thats the germ of an idea, even if its on a small scale - non Welsh speakers in Wales, Welsh lessons on the net, fostering, a tourist website for the local area that sells stuff. Twin stuff. double trouble would be a great website name for a twins theme! It would cost about £3 to get that as a website name, you know... just in case, I'd go for it. If you decide to, let me know, and I'll erase this paragraph so its not on the web.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Damn, I got so excited for DT I forgot about my stuff
I love planning.....
okay, I've done two mystery shops today - just phone calls, so super quick. I've done two big phone calls and two big emails of my own that were needed. I walked to the local shops and back (tatties!). I sussed out what it would be to drop satellite and go to Virgin cable... if I lost quite a few channels, it'd be a saving of £21 a month!!! Plus god knows how much cashback via quidco, money off from Virgin, and a free wireless router. So I'd have to learn about encryption, but thats doable. Did one hour's paid work, but thats all. Still got to put the washing machine on.
I have 5.5 hours work tomorrow, in London, and then I only have Saturday at home before I'm out all Sunday various places (I have to remind myself that those things are *pleasurable*, not an ordeal). Still, I'd like to be able to just walk into the house and relax when I get back late tomorrow night. I suppose I'd better stop sitting at the computer

Thanks for the help Karma the third one seemed interesting but they seem to have lost a major client and don't appear to be recruiting also I would really like daytime hours now the kids are starting full time school in September it appears to be evening and weekend. I shall have to keep thinking but matched betting is definitely on my to do list.
Thanks again
