Let's face it, we're all basically nutters, aren't we? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Right. Onwards and upwards with the challenge! So there's two left to do, the bathroom and the French mortgage. So the jobs are (big delay here while I went to check online banking - I don't want to do this work!)
- clean rim of bath and the tiles just above it, so I can put the sealant on.
- clean the floor.
- retrieve the email the French bank sent me, and try again to get the mortgage put online.
- look at the documents setting up that mortgage, and see if I can work out if they accept overpayments. Its actually the highest interest rate I've got - six point something, so if they did, it would really help things.
And there's other stuff to do, that little thing called daily life (I wrote "lice
) - phone a friend to delay seeing her cos I'd be doing too much that weekend, wash the dishes, phone mum, phone sister, vacuum bedroom floor, print out and do a mystery shop this afternoon, tape Buffy from FX (I'm getting rid of satellite, so I'm taping whatever I fancy at the mo). And the guy who did the pest control thing is finally coming round to be paid - its *months* ago now.
The stuff on this short term challenge was supposed to take a week!!! But I'm keeping this thread going till I've done it all, and then I'll check how long it took to actually do it - its around a month now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karma, sounds like you're doing well with everything - you sound very organised. Funny how lists always seem to take much longer than you'd expect.. plus new things sneak on when you're not looking
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I've gone on to a weekly list now as with daily ones I felt either I didn't make itchallenging enough or if I did I was setting myself up to fail:rotfl:
I am already behind on this weeks list but there again I made into a daily weekly list IYKWIM
so perhaps I should have left the days out anyway I have time to catch up.
Vile day here today how can the weather change so much in a few hours:mad:
Off to get ES or OS or DS some badly needed new clothes not a job either of us enjoy.

My mortgage is actually for my Lanzarote property but is secured on our UK home so at least it is in sterling. For one giddy day I was mortgage free didn't appreciate then what a big thing that was:D That is going to be my target from December when the MFiT -T2 challenge starts. A Euro mortgage must be a pain hope you can overpay it. The only consolation is the interest on the mtg is a business expense so we have made a paper loss on our villa every year as a result and have been able to set it off against our other income to reduce our tax bill.
I have been trying to get our a/c in Lanzarote on line but failing as I never know the balance until weeks after the transactions are made which means I have to keep a larger balance there than I would like to stop us going unexpectedly overdrawn I must try and do it again or at least sort it out when we go in August.

:rotfl:I *really* don't feel it! And of course the only reason I can do all this stuff is that my workload for paid work has collapsed
It seemed reasonable for a week at the time, but obviously not!Funny how lists always seem to take much longer than you'd expect.. plus new things sneak on when you're not looking

Its quite a balancing act, isn't it ... the balance I need is that some days I'll do nothing, and others quite a lot, so weekly suits me better. But also it automatically gives some kind of overview of where I'm going - the daily stuff is too nose-to-the-grindstone to keep an eye on where I'm going.I am already behind on this weeks list but there again I made into a daily weekly list IYKWIM

erm, I think that defeats the purpose of the object (or the object of the purpose, whichever you fancy
:rotfl:
:rotfl: with my weekly list, I'm deciding on the day how I can fulfil it - except for Star Trek, obviously!
This changeability definitely feels more springlike than summerlike.Vile day here today how can the weather change so much in a few hours:mad:
I can so relate to that! I had 10 minutes before the cinema yesterday, so I bought a summer fleece and a winter fleece, both of which I desperately needed, did it totally on spec. I even tried them both on, but on unpacking this morning, have discovered that the summer fleece has "Goldigga" in little fake jewels on the back. Not exactly what you want for a private sector psychotherapist. Rats! :mad:Off to get ES or OS or DS some badly needed new clothes not a job either of us enjoy.

And

to the ES or OS or DS .....
EDIT Lanzarote - I wish I'd at least got a sterling mortgage in this country, thats true - but at least my bank account in France is online, thats something. Lets keep each other up to date with all that.

Aha! Here's one I can help you with ... IYKWIM is If You Know What I Mean!
The patch - that might be an idea.... I could possibly make it a little craft project .... but, tbh, I'm more inclined to see first if they'll take it back - it only cost £7, I don't really want to put that sort of work in on an item like that .... but I might do! Ta....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
