A good sorting out can be really therapeutic. I organised some of my draws the other day when I was stressed out waiting for a text...And I tidied my room and that always makes me feel much better when outward things are neat and tidy.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

latest drama is my boss....
basically spoke to him previously about me needing a day off to attend funeral and he said could i not work the morning shift, wasnt too happy about it, but DH could give me a lift to the funeral (about 60 miles away).
Now DH has a job which starts day of the funeral so hes not able to come with me. Spoke to boss today to ask for whole day off and he has basically said no, and that DH should speak to his new employer and get the day off his work to be able to take me late morning.... which DH refuses to do because he doesnt see why he should, I should be allowed the day off..
So much drama, and I got really upset, and bos started saying things about dh not being supportive, and questionned why he is taking care of dh with care at the practice....so the whole relationship looks like its going to pot....
I really didnt want it to get to that, I am fully prepared to work wholeheartedly till christmas but my boss is making that really difficult by doing things like this....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Need to speak to u xx Im poorly today xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I think your boss is being very selfish. Of course you should be allowed the whole day off for funeral for christ sake! And very difficult for your oh to get a day off work on the first day. I hope you get it all sorted, but your boss has gone from being nice and supportive to selfish and a complete !!!!!!! Like you don't have enough on your plate as it is. What you need to remember is, that you are not at fault! You need to do what you're going to do for you. If your boss can't be supportive, then it's his short coming and nothing to do with you!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Oh dear, I had a feeling this might be coming (or something like this). It sounds like your boss has already dismissed you (well in his mind).
What is HR like in the job? Surely you are entitled to compassionate leave?
Your OH is not being unsupportive. It is his first day at a new job.
You might want to seek some legal advice. Is he allowed to dismiss you anyway just because you might want to move somewhere in the future. My boss knows I want to move to Spain in a few years but that hasn't changed our working relationship.
I suspect your boss really doesn't have your best interests at heart. I am afraid I have suspected it since you were taken into hospital a few months ago and his reaction was terrible.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

i guess it takes something like this to see what people are really like....
he's allowed to give me notice yeah..... but he cant give me less than 2 weeks notice. There is no HR, he owns the company....so no hr dept...
DH wants me to not go back at all, but we cant survive financially and i wont be entitled to any benefits if i just quit....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

It's so infuriating. Can you get advice from some employment organisation (sorry don't know any). I think your OH is being so sweet telling you not to go back but if you need the money, you need the money so you are kind of stuck.
Have you been looking at any other jobs so that you can leave quickly?
By the way, fantastic news that your OH got a job!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
