Marathons, Money and Motivation

:A

Following a pretty rough week, some soul searching and some "enthusiastic" pm's.... times are a-changing.....

Following on from the latest diary which I have laid to rest.... I needed a kick up the backside... should you be wondering why take a peek here
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1038407&page=1

I've read back over it myself and shed a tear or fifty!

But its time to wipe the slate clean, own up, fess up and generally kick my own selfish butt!

I've managed to sign up to a 10k run in October (and have paid for it) so am now totallt committed. Training starts monday, and I've given myself a goal to be able to complete it in under 1 hour!

Debt is still there, like a giant albatross round my neck, but now is the time to shake it off and get moving.

Thanks to everyone for their magnificent support over the past years (god and I'm still in debt! :o)..... I love you all so much xx

Ooh I love shiny, new diaries!

Well done on signing up for the 10k run, braver gal than me (or just not as lazy as me :rotfl:)

Don't forget your DF journey is exactly the same as training for that 10k run. You can't do it all in one go so its a little bit at a time, gradually those little bits build up in to big bits and the finishing line gets that little bit closer. Crap analagy I know but thats the best I can do on a Sunday! :D

    Good Luck x x x x

    You're very welcome [dodgy hug]
What is it youre aiming for?

Just posted .... basically, planting plants; seeing to foreign mortgage; doing 3 mystery shops; seeing Star Trek; and sorting my bathroom. I said it quite a lot more long windedly than that!

This is great - I'm going to watch this diary at the same time as I do my little thread :j

    Hello darling!

    Happy new diary!

Must be something in the air, Im raring to go on the stop moneysaving- start money making front. Oh and I have been listing on ebay all day today and we are very hopeful . Gearing up to do a car boot as well in a few weeks- we MUST get on with it!

I think we will set up a new account where all the paypal money goes to and for cheques for MS shopping. We switched to 02 broadband last week which is cheaper and about to do the home insurance so should get 70 quid out of that with some cashback. At least we can see what we have achieved then

Also had some good news rumbling at work too, but I too feel like Ive got Zero time. But I guess you have to make time dont you. Me & OH had a barney in asda earlier, we just have to keep a lid on whats being spent- we cant buy everything

Im still giving the nudge to oh to get on with the matched betting theres an easy few hundred quid when he gets his act together. After the ebay listings, one step at a time eh!

Would love to catch up with you soon hun and hope you are ok xx
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

After this week there is no chance in hell that Im setting DH to work on matched betting... I love him and he's my world, but I know his limitations...

So im in charge of the cash, and I've now made my peace with that, and therefore am going to kick !!!!

I've got about £190 left in my account before payday (17th for me), and so will need to pay a large proportion off my IF credit card as have recently been..... naughty... theres no other way to put it really.

DH has done his application to re-join the police just needs his GP's signature, and a statement on why he wants to re-join. He's getting it signed on thursday and we can work on the statement through the week.

Have got enough food in for the week and lunch for both of us.
Next week DH is away from the tuesday to the monday, he's going camping with my Dad to a car race, so some down time to do what I want, and spend some time with the puppy.

Am committed to seeing this week go well, there will be challenges but I will get over them, and learn from them and not let it rock me to my core anymore.

    Refresh and renew.....

Am now off to see where I can find a training schedule which is free to download.
