I've finally sold my first book on GM after about 3 months, but the email from them says they haev crdited my account with £2 ... I thought it was £3 per book ??? I know its only £1 difference but hey, we've all got targets to beat!! Anyone know if its different amounts for different books??
    Mortgage Total: £51,801 / £75,000
    Mortgage Overpayments Pot £947
  • Did you reduce the amount that you wanted for it because it was a small or old book?

possibly .... don't remember now, it was that long ago !!! I have checked my other books listed on there and they all say £3. It may be that as it only cost me 50p in the first place!

Can anyone tell me how successful they are on Greenmetropolis? ie books listed vs volume of sales. I've just listed a bunch of fairly common paperbacks, am I going to have to wait a year or so before these get to the front of the queue?
    Thanks

I'm not sure this answers your question but I've got about 70 listed on GM, have listed them gradually often books that are only 1p on Amazon. Been listing since Nov '06 and sold 6 books - 2 in the last 2 days! Have to say its not the popular ones that have gone but some I didn't think would sell and hadn't gone on Amazon for ages
  • I've been selling on GM since september 06 (when I got hold of a load of older books) and i've got about 800 on there now.
I've sold 43 in total (for about £132).
It's a slow process, but given there are no fees at either end (cept postage) and the listings don't expire it takes very little work.
I'll never be a millionaire doing this but I'm starting to tailor my books to aim for the less popular titles and wanted lists, and it seems to be paying off as i've sold 4 in the last week.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Thanks for your expereinces. I'm planning a car boot sale once the weather improves, in the meantime all the paperbacks are on GM. Let's see what happens!

listed my first set of books on green met in december, now had 3 sales in the last week, i think it just takes a little while for your book to reach the top of the list, all were books going for a penny on amazon, so i am quite happy with that.

as some one said above this site is never gonna make you a millionaire but its cheap and easy to do!!

Had just tried to sell a few books on Ebay with no luck whatsoever, will try out this site and see how it goes. Does look very good.

How can you tell when it is your books at the top of the list? Unless you add some extra info about the book, they are all the same and the same price. I have listed books but have no idea when thay are at the top.
