well i ended up doing no workout last night because i fell down the stairs at teatime and went over on my ankle so thought it best to give it a rest! Feels fine today though so should be ok to get back on it. Diet was rubbish yesterday cos of my mums birthday so must try harder today. I'm not going out anywhere so it should be easier to avoid the bad things.
today will be cornflakes for breakfast with semi skimmed milk, lunch will be minestrone soup no bread and dinner will probably be either salmon or chicken and veg. still no success with upping my water intake though, has anyone got any ideas on how i can train myself to drink more?0 -
Morning all - back at work today so thought i'd post before I go as I don't have internet access.
B : Mini box of cinnamon grahams, skimmed milk
L : 2 slices brown bread with a small tub of cheese & onion sandwich filler, Small bag of grapes
D : Don't know yet! Will update later.
Only managed my 1L of water yesterday so Im gonna try for 2 litres today. Also a small energy shot drinky thing which is 40 cals.
Binky, I also have problems with drinking water, what I normally do is have a pint about 15 mins before each meal when i'm at home, I also find it kinda fills me up and stops me overeating. Hope that helps.0 -
Binky Rubbish that you fell down the stairs! - I hope you're ok! Do you work during the day? I work in an office job, so I keep a 2L bottle in work, and fill it up in the morning when I go in - then it's almost like a contest with myself to get through it before the end of the day!
I sometimes add diluting juice, just since it's a bit boring drinking boring old water all the time! I used to struggle to get through the 2L's - but I really do notice a difference now in my skin etc. The other thing I do is to drink a pint every morning whilst I'm getting ready! Can;t really offer any more constructive advice though!
Yesterday was pretty rubbish for me eating-wise - but man did it feel good not to be hungry for once!I had:
Brekkie: Porridge with s/skimmed milk
Snack: Lemon muffin from Greggs (I don't even really like Muffins - but it was damn good!)
Lunch: Red Thai Chicken sandwich from Greggs (Which I had the cheek to get on brown bread, so I could pretend I was being healthy!)
Snack: 1 Satsuma
Dinner: Pork and pepper kebabs on 1 white W/Watchers Pitta bread
Exercise: Went to my Salsa class, which actually was really good fun - and meant 2.5 hours worth of dancing. Not exactly strenuous, but every little helps!

Binky - hope your ankle heals swiftly...but do take care.
A really good tip I got from a book I read was to keep a bottle of water by your bedside and in the morning when you awake, take 8 big swigs. Then 8 big swigs before each meal. Drinking water cold is also a little yuk so top up your glass with a little hot water from the kettle. Whenever I think I am getting hungry, I always have a glass of water and also while preparing meals.
Btw, didnt post yesterday - tried to stay well foodwise but there was a small matter of a HUGE dinner party in the evening. Did restrict my self though. Now all I need to do is remember the same restraint for the ensuing four birthdays this month - including mine!!!!!Birthdays are just an excuse to eat cake0 -
thanks everyone, i'm ok it wasn't a bad fall luckily could have been much worse and i feel fine today.
Crapwithmoney, i work from home so i have easy access to drinks all day i just never feel thirsty and it is hard to force the drinks down me. I do like the idea of filling a 2 litre bottle and just working my way through it i think the visual thing might help anyway will give it a go tomorrow i think. I've got totm approaching and i always put on weight through water retention so i'm hoping if i manage to up my fluid intake i will be able to keep the dreaded bloats away!0 -
Yeah it defo helps me Binky (with the bloating that is!). And you're spot on about the visual side of it - I use quite a small glass, and have the bottle sitting next to me all the time - I'm 3/4 of the way through today's lot already. Plus, as a few other people have mentioned, it does take the hunger away just a bit!
Almost time for lunch - trying to decide what to have! hhhhmmmmm.......
