OK, that wasn't much nicer but at least the texture was thicker. What to do? Mix it into a low fat fromage frais?

What flavour did you get tara? When I had to have complan I got the vanilla one and mixed it with instant coffee to make a latte

    Strawberry, yuk yuk yuk.

I would have preferred vanilla but they only had strawberry in the spirulina version! :(

    Just my opinion ...
To loose weight and not put it on again, there is not really any such thing as a "diet", there is a permanent change in eating and activity habit.
On the basis that some slimming shake is never going to be a part of your eating habit forever why bother with them now?
You'll only have to change your eating habits again later to exclude the shakes and get your body and mind used to that new habit all over again.
Just stick to real good food and counting up those calories.
Get the balance of right foods at right times of day and you won't need artificial help in feeling full in the form a slimming shake.

    So, What to do?
Put it in the bin and forget about it ;)
    Just my opinion....

... and you know those Polo's are not going to stop you feeling hungry, so there is no point in having those calories.

Good point on the shake (and the Polos)! However, it is not a meal replacement, I am having it post-lunch for a protein boost to take away the snack urge in the afternoon! I am not planning to make it a permanent feature of my diet and probably should bin it. But I am going to give it a few days and see how I get on. I have tried it on my own and it isn't working. I just would like a few days of not snacking and feeling better in myself. Because at the minute I feel so fat, I'm eating too much.

    Sigh.

Thanks for the tough love BTW, I need it.

I don't know what went wrong!
I've gained. I've gone back to my June starting weight, which is really upsetting.
Ah well. Went to the gym and had healthy food today, so hopefully July will go better.

Well done to everyone who has lost!

  • Hi everyone, just wanted to leave a message as today is the last day of june and all that. I really wanted to say thanks to everyone for all your support and well done to all who lost this month. If you didn't lose then well done to you aswell, well done for making positive changes to your diets. As for me, well I was vegan for a good part of last year and the other day I decided to go back to it. Today is my 5th day I think and feeling good. Tomorow will be 1 month off the crisps for me!

So to summarise : Well done everyone and I wish you all the luck in the world for July, Seeya on that thread

Phew, glad you took those comments the right way, comes over a bit strong reading it back half a day later :o

I tried and failed on calorie counting once before, it was seeing my weight approaching another whole stone in weigh and realising it was an upward trend that got my mind in order. And then to begin with a few days of ignoring a rumbling stomach that was expecting a mid-afternoon snack. A few days of that and the stomach and mind stopped expecting the snack and it wasn't quite so hard.
For me a big part of all this was deciding to put brain in control of what goes in rather than just responding to what the stomach thinks it wants.
Got a live a little too though, had my beer out last night, managed to stick with only having one (about 250 cals) :j
