hi everyone, i've just got back from the gym and i love the new equipment!
everything has heart rate monitors, you can plug headphones in and watch tv on them, you can plug your ipod in and it brings up your playlists or videos on screen. you can plug in a usb stick and download your progress on it to look at at home, and best of all there was lots of new things i hadn't used before!
I did 15 minutes on the bike watching eastenders, 45 reps on an inner thigh trainer, 45 reps on an outer thigh trainer, 45 reps on a leg press and 3 minutes on a stair climber which nearly killed me i swear i had spots in front of my eyes after that one!
I have a fitness programme planner with a trainer next week and i have noticed that the same person also does a body pump class so i am going to quiz her about it and see if i am brave enough to goas its always one i've been interested in.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, I don't know what I'd do without the gym! That's really cool about the being able to download your progress - your gym must be a bit fancier than mine:rotfl:! Are you a bit sore today? My arms are achinng from tricep dips and pull ups yesterday!

Well I think I did ok yesterday. My meals are ok, it's snacking that's the problem, especially in the evening. It's easier when the weather's good though, I'm less inclined to sit in front of the tv stuffing my face! Much cloudier and cooler today though...

I think i'm really lucky my gym is so fancy too! it's a council owned leisure centre so we have the gym and a half olympic sized pool and all the classes for £25 a month. i will take a usb stick with me tonight and see how it works. Not too sore luckily so should be ok to manage another session tonight.

I managed 10,307 steps yesterday so a good start. :j I am so unfit that this is actually a challenge. :o I guess it can only get better! Food was kinda mixed with a magnum sneeking in there (I have no willpower when everyone is eating them). The rest wasn't too bad.

Sadly I need to loose weight before even the largest sports bra will fit me so non bouncing exercise is a necessity... I've never done Bodypump! :o

PS Get well soon Dragon! Flu is evil...

  • Well done on all the steps Taka! Anything that gets you moving is a step in the right direction!

Bodypump is probably the most "non-bouncy" class you could do, since there's no cardio involved. It's all resistance training with weights, so really good since you can determine your own pace by increasing/decreasing the weights! :)

Binky - your gym sounds well plush! If only I had a council one nearby - I'd be very tempted to join!

    xx

hi everyone :hello: well weigh-in today 13st 3lbs , so in may i lost 3lb. must put extra effort in :o.
Talked to mom today, (that's where i go to be weighed) & she said the only way she really lost weight was by calorie counting. So has much as i avoided c/c, (hate being in any sort of regime) I think it's the only way i'm going to shift any serious weight.
So i shall download the c/c counter, & stop making excuses & get on with it.
    Good luck to us all!

Well done on the 3 pound loss in May Shapeshifter! I do find Calorie Count a good sight (and actually having the "Eat Meter" in my bookmark really helps!)
