  • Morning all, hope you're all having fun in the sun xxx

Well I'm sulking this morning, jumped on the scales and somehow have gained 3 lbs in 2 days!! :rotfl:So my start weight for this month is 11 stone 8 lbs, am hoping totm is coming early and it's not because I've been sleep-snacking without realising. :D

I'm not going to dwell on it because there's no point beating myself up, today is a new month. We had a bbq yesterday and I didn't over-indulge apart from a sneaky bowl of choccie ice-cream but I blame the gorgeous weather for that. I'm going food shopping after work, so I'll be able to stock up on lovely healthy stuff.
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person... :D:p

I weighed in this morning, before food and clothes I'm 11st 1lb, so hopefully I'll be about 10 1/2st by the end of the month. Going on hols on July 10th so that's good motivation. Also yesterday I tried on a pair of cropped jeans I bought for last years holiday and they're too small now !

Binky - Good luck at the gym!! I'm sure you'll find it much easier than you'd expect!

I had my one-to-one with the personal trainer at my gym on Friday, so I'm good to go with a new diet and exercise plan - if anyone's interested in having a read I can post it later on?

    xx

Exercise wise I'm quite good. This morning I had half an hour at the gym then went to a step class, so that was good. I'd love a personal trainer but for the moment I'm sticking with a four weekly consultation with one of the gym staff and that seems to be motivating me pretty well. I just need to stop eating so much!

Crap_with_money, I'd be really interested to read your plan.

Binkyboo, enjoy your induction! I find that with the gym if you stick to roughly the same times each week and think of it as something you have to go to (like a job) rather than something you can go to if you feel like it you'll soon get into a routine.

    Good luck everyone!

Dragon could you post my start weight of 11 stone 5 please?
I'm studying for exams at the mo, but i'm going to the gym later to relax (yes I know I'm a bit odd seeing the gym as relaxing) and if I defuzz my legs i might even go swimming as well. I was going swimming every day a few weeks ago, but then i had my hair highlighted and i'm a bit paranoid about it going green :o.
    Right back to studying.
    See you all soon

  • I am so thick – I’ve been logging on all day – wondering why the thread was so quiet since there were no new posts showing – turns out it’s because I hadn’t subscribed 0 so obviously the new posts didn’t highlight!! Doh!!

Man – I’ve just had an AMAZING lunch, and I never thought I’d hear myself say it – since I had salad!!

Does anyone ever eat Avacado? I added it to my salad – but I’m not sure if it tasted as it was meant to – it’s the first time I’ve eaten it, but it was really hard, and a bit tasteless – are you supposed to cook it first?

My new diet plan (it’s a bit boring and regimental – but hopefully it’ll do the trick if I can stick to it for just 5 weeks!!):

Breakfast (8am) – Must be porridge, with semi-skimmed milk!!

    Snack (10.30am) – 2 x pieces of Fruit (I’m banned from eating banana’s though!)

Lunch (12.30) Salad with some kind of fish (Obviously you can experiment – but I had, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, pickled onions, peppers, avocado, mange tout and sugar snap peas, with King Prawns and Roasted Salmon flakes – all with a pepper & garlic thing ground over it, and sprinkled with lemon juice – you could also add pasta, but must be wholemeal, and no more than 8 pieces).

Snack (3pm) 1 piece of fruit, or a low-fat yoghurt

Dinner (6pm) Lean meat with lots of veg (I’ll probably be having a lot of Stir-fry’s)

Snack (8pm) Ryvita with Cottage Cheese

Min 2L’s of water, no fizzy drinks, and lots of Peppermint or Green Tea.

Sorry – it’s nothing ground breaking, and not even really very exciting! But I’m hoping that along with the exercise – it might just make all the difference!!

Exercise plan – gym 4 nights a week, with my salsa lesson in the middle!

Jodun – I can’t really afford a Personal Trainer either, I had a 1-2-1 with him on Friday as a 1 off, and that’s purely because he’s running the “fat-busting bootcamp” I’m going to, so I thought it’d be worthwhile meeting up with him to go over my diet etc! It’d be great to have someone there shouting at me to keep going every time I drag myself to the gym – but unless I win the lottery – it just aint gonna happen! L

No you don't cook it, but you do need to keep it at home for a few days to let it get ripe.It will be soft like bannana flesh when it's ripe, and it will taste a lot better then too.
Avacodo is quite high calorie at around 289 calories for an average sized, but if it fits inside the daily budget it's allowed :D
  • I only had a quarter of one - and to be honest - I'm not worried about counting calories as such! :D With my new exercise regime I have enough to play with.

I'll definitely bear it in mind though to let it go ripe first of all.

Can I join too? I have a LOT of weight to loose and I'd love to have a bit of company on the journey! (Oh and a bit of butt kicking too please :o ) I've got loose 7lb a month for a year on my 101 in 1001 challenge so this thread would fit right in!

I am so unfit its unreal so 1st step (along with eating healthily with appropriate portion sizes - have had tips from a dietician on this) is to manage to walk my 10,000 steps a day. I've got my pedometer on and WILL do 10,000 every day this week. :D 4321 so far so it looks like I'll be walking half way home to make up the rest.

hi everyone, i've just got back from the gym and i love the new equipment!
everything has heart rate monitors, you can plug headphones in and watch tv on them, you can plug your ipod in and it brings up your playlists or videos on screen. you can plug in a usb stick and download your progress on it to look at at home, and best of all there was lots of new things i hadn't used before!
I did 15 minutes on the bike watching eastenders, 45 reps on an inner thigh trainer, 45 reps on an outer thigh trainer, 45 reps on a leg press and 3 minutes on a stair climber which nearly killed me i swear i had spots in front of my eyes after that one!
I have a fitness programme planner with a trainer next week and i have noticed that the same person also does a body pump class so i am going to quiz her about it and see if i am brave enough to goas its always one i've been interested in.
