The tax credits renewal form has finally arrived.

The bad news is we know we have earned more than we estimated so we have been overpaid.

But the reason was that my OH's company changed the way he got paid. He used to get commission but now all that has been stopped and instead its a set wage. To compensate for a drop in wages he was given a small payout and this took us over our yearly estimated limit.

So now we are in the situation where he will be earning much less this year so in theory our tax credits should have gone up.

But because we have been overpaid the situation is very unclear which means my budget has to be reworked. We really need those tax credits so any loss will severely hit us hard and i hate to think how we will cope fianacially.

Filling it out tonight so that hopefully we will know quickly what is happening because until we do i feel like i am in a bit of a limbo situation.

Oh no - very sorry to hear everyone's bad news, especially Hipkiss and Queen B's.

Makes my bad news seem very pathetic (well it is really...).

I had a free bet with Coral, (using Quidco) if I opened an account and deposited £10. Which I did on Friday. I put £10 on West Ham winning the FA Cup and £10 on Liverpool to win the FA Cup.

Coral marked my Liverpool bet as "lost".

So I emailed them and asked why? They replied saying "Because Liverpool didn't win it outright at 90 minutes".

I knew there would be some wriggly smarmy reason why they wouldn't pay up. Gits.

Thanks i am feeling a bit stressed about the situation, we called them up and asked if we would have to pay it back all in one go, it seems it will be taken from our payments, if we are intitled to any that is, but what with all the stuff in the news and the fact we keep getting a different answer each time we phone i just can't shake feeling worried.

We should not have been over paid by much but you never know with the tax credits, if we lose them our monthly income will go down by £180, plus what with my OH lower wage we will be another hundred pound or more down. He has been looking for a second job but no luck as of yet.

I am feeling as stressed as i was before coming on here a few months ago but at least i have this place for support and advice.

LA sorry to hear about the lost bet if you ask me it was very underhand of them.

Hello everyone sorry to see you bad news, especially hipkiss - good luck with your search.

My monitor went up in a flames about 10 days ago so I've not got my usual PC access at home anymore. I feel like my arm's been cut off. No regular access to DFW, no internet banking, no selling stuff on ebay/Amazon etc It's been pretty grim but things could be worse I suppose.

Work has been really busy too so can't even steal a few minutes and log on there :o

Anyway, here's hoping a new monitor will find its way to me soon ;)

 Sigh..car exhaust making noise (sort of sound boy racers want ! just doesn't really suit my clio..) just paid for new brake bads and bearings. Get up this morning fridge temperature up to +17, it's eight years old so I'm fearing the worst, not been the most reliable piece of equipment either.

Freecycle is a brilliant option for monitors, or have an ask in the "green & ethical " new section if anyone knows of anywhere locally you can get a second hand one for free?

My bad news today is that it looks like we are going to get charged a late payment fee from one of our CC.

We recently got accepted for a 0% card and have transfered some of the balance from our worst card. However we have been told it could take between 7-10 days so it will not clear in time.

We phoned up the CC and asked if the charge could be stopped but they said no, their attitude was basically tough luck.

So now we are left with only two options, pay more to avoid the charge, which we can't really do, or just live with the charge which is just sticking in my throat.

Its times like this i get really frustrated.

my bad news is that I got a electric and gas bill from powergen a wee while ago and it was £177.92!!! Finally got round to phoning them up today as I thought this amount was wrong. Gave them new meter readings and I actually owe £245.21 :eek:Even though I am paying £40 a month on direct debit. I am away to switch every light and appliance off now! So glad I am in the process of switching suppliers, thanks to MSE :T
