Well my bad news was from monday.

I went to Cambridge to visit a friend, had a lovely weekend, not too expensive and then just as I was setting off to go home, disaster struck.

My car would nt open with electric keys and engine would nt start.

Then realised that it was May 1st and my years breakdown insurance ran out on 30th April. So had to phone and join the AA (through the nose) so that cost me £88!!

Was nt too thrilled but had little choice.

He then came out and told me that battery had died and so had to pay £61 for a new battery (again, more than wanted to)

So all in all it cost me £150 just to get home.

Not too happy, but life goes on. Will have to cut back more for rest of month.

Take whats left of his computer away and sell it all piece by pice.

If he wants a new one, he can get a part time job and pay for it himself.

Time to get tough BIG TIME!!!!!!

Im in a harsh mood today, and it will do him the world of good.
Yes youre right. I am getting tougher with him. I didnt buy him a birthday present and I have sold off all his computer games and kept the money. My OH doesnt help much apart from losing his temper now and again. His school fees come to an end soon and I cant wait. He needs to get a job. My OH says we are very alike as we both stay up half the night playing on the computer.

tes, when does he finish school? Might it be an idea to work out how much his schooling costs each day, and when you find out he hasnt been bill him
for it. Be it selling his stuff off to the tune?

When hes finished, you need to be setting up a contract for his food & board of how much you want a week off him. Get him to understand it. Also get your husband to tell him about it, seems he avoids this sort of thing & leaves them to you?

He needs to start living in the real world - PRONTO!

His last exams are in June. It depends on his results whether he goes back to study A levels (he has been doing AS levels this year). Hs not going back to the fee paying school, im hoping his old school will take him in the 6th form if he gets the grades, if not we have totally wased our money. So yes I would like him to get a job once hes finished. Im not going to insist on it now as he is so disorganised. We have already worked out how much its costing us and its in the region of £65 a day. Isnt that awful? I have nightmares about it. Its the worse thing we ever did.

Oh had a chat with him the day before yesterday. Mainly about school and work. OH is more desperate than me for him to go to uni, because OH had no chances given to him in life but even he is beginning to realise that you cant make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. (Not that he hasnt got the brains, hes just bone idle).

With you on that Tes. At the end of the day, dont force him to go to Uni, its seriously a water of money unless he is thoroughly committed. In any case, once his exams are over, off to work for him isnt it?

Well tell him he wags school again and he will owe you £65 per day which is what his schooling costs.

    Youll get there :)
