Co-op Cashminder Visa Debit Card

I don't think anyone has actually received a visa debit yet, there's also a thread running over on Bank Accounts & Budgeting, no-one there has received one yet either

Yeah that'll be fine close the current account and open the cashminder in branch, all will be good.

Because the standard current account has credit facilities available (i.e. you can apply for a personal overdraft without further credit checks once the account has been open for a few months), it would probably be closed when you go BR, as matey said

i will stay with the co-op for life, they also deserve praise for not getting involved in the banking meltdown, unlike so many other british banks. they do have principals and stick to them, very rare in to days dog eat dog world.

I received a visa debit card this morning. My electron card was not due to expire until Nov 2011, but whilst I rang the coop re a query on my account, I asked would it be possible to have a debit card. He ordered one straight away for me. Fantastic service from a brilliant bank!:j

Same here - I phoned today for a debit card and a savings account - they said yes to both - just gotta wait now for them to arrive - woohoo!!

Just ordered a new card from Co-op very nice man advised that it would be a visa debit card now instead of visa electron Yippy can do my shopping on line with tesco

Hi I just rang a few minutes ago and the lady said that she would not try now as she would have to do a credit check and it could be refused, she said it was best to call a money manager in the morning on 0845 600 3550 and they do not run a credit check and have the authority to decide once your account has been running well. Fingers crossed and will let you know tomorrow:)
