I agree too, Co-Op have been excellent - have no intention of moving, especially after the appauling service at Barclays. If a debit card comes through, excellent, if not then I still have an excellent account and I have not come accross that many places that dont take Electron.0

Fully agree, Cashminder has been an absolute godsend for us and i would not even think of moving away from them.
We havent had our card turned away as far as i am aware, but i do appreciate that it cant be used online on some sites, my answer to that would be go elsewhere.:grouphug: hehe it always makes me chuckle0 -
just a bit of a 'today' update really
Having received my bits & bobs via snail mail from the Co-op (new account paying -in book & Visa Electron card) I made the journey into my nearest branch (some way away) in order to pay in some monies & arrange my DD's change over.....as i had been told to do (!)
Lovely Co-op guy, went through all details with me then informed me there was no need at all for me to be there personally to change over the DD's as I could have done so over the phone directlyAs confusion set in he then offered to phone the companies concerned & speak to them before handing them over to me
All done & dusted over the phone (the Co-op phone)......how nice
Then asked if I'd like a free Co-op hemp bag ......weeeeeellllll, as I live in a 'plastic-free' village I had to say 'yes' didn't I?!!! So he gave me 2
I so love the Co-op Bank :T
Anyhow's......then had to see the cashier to pay in my monies & I asked about the possibility/rumour of a visa debit card on the Cashminder account? An emphatic "no" !!!!!!??
So who know's eh?still think they're fab tho :j

Sounds like you got well looked after.
I could never see that happening in my local bank not the co op I might add lol
I wonder how did all this 08/06 visa debit switch over instigated saying that they have removed the word electron from there cashminder description for some reasonIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
I too have just spoken to Co-op (I had to call them regarding something on my statement i didn't recognize, turned out to be beer!)
The lady on the phone when i asked her, said that all electron cards would be getting replaced in the next few weeks as they were doing away with electron and that there was no need to apply.
The new Visa Debit cards however would not have the cheque guarantee facility for obvious reasons, but then again, hardly anywhere accepts cheques nowadays anyway!
I for one am looking forward to not having my card turned away because i don't meet the criteria for certain shops!
Hope that helps somewhatI've been through the mill once or twice and come out the other side...0 -
Well lets hope thats the case as that would be excellent news.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:
