Maybe its not Co-op maybe Visa are getting rid of Electron and it will all get ironed out when they say that it electron is dead and then all the stops on electron cards will be lifted.

I know everyone is getting very excited but my electron really is not causing me to much hassle so i am going to sit back and wait to see if anything comes in the post of the next few months. It would be a nice surprise.

To be honest - I have one week to go till the end of my Bankruptcy - I have had my Co-op Cashminder account just over a year and have never had any problems at supermarkets, retail outlets or on-line shopping in fact anywhere - the only 'one occasion' was at an Asda pre-pay pump - I wondered why that lane was empty  as I never usually use them or go to Asda!!
So no biggie for me I just drove back to a normal pump..
So although I don't like Co-op food (food intol)
I do love the fact that the Co-op bank has stood by us in our time of great need and enabled us to keep paying our Direct Debits and function as normal as pre-bankruptcy days... :j

So I don't really see what all the fuss is about ;)

Hmm did someone say we can actual have a co-op savings account as a bankrupt - now?
If so when did this come about? !!

    Hi Dizzydebbs,

Just realised you went BR 3 days after me last year.

Yes in the last few days it seems that Co-op are letter you get a savings account i have been lead to believe that you have better chances if you give them a call.

Personally although i love Co-op and like you will never forget what they have done for people like us but i signed up to a E Saver account with Yorkshire Building Society (ybs.co.uk) who beat co-op to this and are excellent and you can apply online and offer top class customer service to me so far so my saving loyalty is with them as they were the 1st in my mind to give us a chance with savings and are still independant too.

I called them yesterday, after finding that Tesco online didn't accept Electron and they agreed to send a Visa debit within the next 7 - 10 days :)

I recieved the same leaflet - but you can still only use it where you used your electron ie Tesco will not allow you to buy your groceries over the internet with it!!! And I believe you will have problems with certain hotel chains and train companies - It's just a name change !!!!!!
