Co-op Cashminder Visa Debit Card

I am really fed up now - thought I could live my life more independantly, without having to depend on my OH and friends to buy my clothes etc for me. I want to buy my own on line - what a bummer!!!!!!
If mine doesn't work i will def complain loudly to co-op, and see if i can get it upgraded.0 -
It does seem to be just a clever bit of marketing at the moment and it may just be in response to Barclays Connect Card which i believe is a real debit card. Its a shame if it is the same as i thought that it was a great move forward for this account.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

How about getting yourself a Cashplus Pre Paid Mastercard, then you can just transfer your money on to it and shop online to your hearts content or until your money runs out

Its a shame that Co-op dont look to upgrade you after so long and providing you keep the account running well as they would truly clean up the market with us BR's. Barclays gave me the "we give BR's a second chance" guff when i went in i say guff because my account has been run perfectly and nothing has changed again to the big banks we are just a number.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

The only problem with the cashplus card is the charges - you either have to pay a monthly fee (about £5) or pay for each transaction (it's either per transaction or each time you load it with cash).0

Yeah! I realise the MadMonk but sometimes when needs must and all that and the £4.95 can be budgeted for.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I've just had an idea maybe it's just the old electrons that are not being properly turned into Visa Debits - I'm wondering wether someone who's recently opened a cashminder account and has received their Visa Debit card might have a properly working one!!! So if someone who has just opened an account and recieved a card could check the first 4 numbers - what you don't want is the old electron no's of 4508 but maybe new account holders have been given different no's????0

Early June I called to order a new card as my numbers had nearly dissapeared and late last week I got a visa debit card.£2 Savers club £0/£150

Yeah i wondered the same thing and said before i wonder if they have to tick a box to make it work or maybe Visa have to let the retailers know that electron is being fazed out and to accept the new debit cards as just that.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Hi Lindsaygalaxy - can I ask what the first 4 numbers on your Visa Debit card are? Cos if they are 4508 you have been given an electron pretending to be a Visa Debit (fingers crossed it's not 4508!)0
