we had a fab day, how lovely to be asked! would love to share piccies, especially of our replacement and better quality chair covers! haha not quite sure how on here though?

If you open a quote box, there is the option to insert images, from Photobucket etc!!

Pleased it didn't cloud your day :D
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
• hi, yup we used j&r chair covers for our wedding in december 2008. my advice...DON'T USE THEM! don't make the mistake we did and go for the cheapest supplier, there's a reason why they're so cheap. we sent them the dimensions of the chairs at the hotel and then when the chair covers arrived (a couple of days before the wedding but we only saw them the day before because we weren't at the venue until then) they were too small...there was no way they could ever fit on the size of chair we'd told them we had. so on the day we had no chair covers (they couldn't have got replacements to us in time and to be honest from what i've read on other posts i doubt they would've picked up their phone to help anyway!). anyway, i assumed they'd just made a mistake and we'd get our money back, but no, rebecca demanded that that size of chair cover has fitted that size chair before (not possible when the base of the cover is 15cm smaller than the top of the chair and the covers aren't stretchy!!) and we got nothing back despite multiple emails. there are so many posts on different forums where people have had problems with these people, honestly just do not use them, it's not worth the stress and hassle on the day!! luckily for me, it didn't actually matter not having chair covers as the day was amazing, and my husband even managed to get a joke about it in his wedding speech. have wonderful days all of you!!
• Did I make a definate statement that they where the same company...I think not! my posting clearly stated that as I heard third party I would not give out the name, surely this leaves anyone affected to do their own research!
Strange that you are so protective towards them, when you don't expect your covers to turn up.
There is a lesson to be learnt here, buy cheap and you buy twice...home work needs to be done on these new companies that keep popping up with cheap prices. I can name two companies that were definate scams and there will be others, sadly these sick sort of people will always be about and in these times of recession they will be taking advantage.

This is the same company. J&R are now trading as White Lily. This is absolutely scandelous, and every BTB needs to know to stay well clear. Also their sister company, and it certainly is 'sister company' by the name of theresajane are also advertising cheap chair covers.
BUY AT YOUR PERIL!!

This has been discussed on Y&YW forum. I think if you want a company to dress your venue, chose one which has been trading for a while. Ambience venue styling. www.leedsvenuestyling.co.uk A little pricey but reliable and superb.

Just had a look at their website and it is really amateur looking.

On the plus side, they do have an address so you could go round and speak to them in person if you are concerned:

40 toyne street
crookes
sheffield
s10 1hj
Just started comping - 1/12/08 - keep your fingers crossed!

Anyone would think you work for them Linda!!

I'm not personally on the look out for chair covers myself at the moment, was just offering Paula123 an alternative as she is obviously concerned about losing her money!! Not all situations are best answered by writing off your money and booking a different supplier
