Hi folks unfortunately i booked and paid with J&R , however 2 weeks ago following lots of e-mails calls and no reponse i decieded i could not go through the stress in the final weeks to my sons wedding . He is getting married on the 13th June i booked and paid in january and was still waiting on a sash to colour match . Considering this was promised on January the 22nd and i waited 4 months for it i felt i had given them enough time . I spent hours trying to get them on the phone but decided enough is enough . I have since booked with another company who call me sent a sash out the next day and i have had the service i feel i deserved . There is a facebook page about this company a lot of people have been in touch with consumer direct and watchdog to try and get there money back . Rule number 1 no company should only give a mobile number and by law they must give you an upto date address unfortunately i did not know this at the time of booking . Consumer direct have been very helpful and i urge you to contact them if you too have been let down.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to STAY CLEAR of this company!!

They have let numerous brides down, people have paid for goods and never received their chair covers or they have not turned up on the day! Not worth taking the risk! Rebecca and her husband are effectively stealing people's money, and not providing a service. No one can get through to them, and they don't answer phonecalls or emails or respond to letters. They have provided an incorrect postal address to customers and are not registered with companies house. Not only that but they change their terms and conditions without notfiying customers, effectively blackmailing customers who have already made bookings to pay more when they have already paid in full.

Many customers have complained to Trading Standards, BBC Watchdog and some have even made complaints to the police. Please do not use this company. There are many, many chair cover companies out there who will provide an excellent service, unfortunately J&R is NOT one of them!!
  • phew, luks like we had a lucky escape then as i tried ringing them loads 2 book them but got no answer....thank god by the looks of this thread!x

  • well i have sent lots of emails, when i threatened to report them they finally replied, and i have effectively had an email row with this woman, who has still not refunded me.
would it be too much to post the arguement on here? i need help as i dont want to let her get away with it!

I had a massive email row with her as well, it was reducing me to tears at the time and in the end OH had to ring her and she got really agressive with him too. I was so close to just going round to the house and demanding my money back.
  • this is why i wanted to ask you guys, i am getting so emotional about it, we have both tried to ring her but she never bloody answers!
gonna bite the bullet and show you the row i think, am tempted to show her what you all been saying as she is arguing with me about her good service and reputation!

We do not contact previous clients as this is not a service we are able to offer, we do however very often receive feedback from out customers.

I have had no contact from Ms Ferman, and I have her order form stating she requires DIY.

As you clearly feel this is a legal issue may i please request any further information sent in writing as i will need my legal representatiives to deal with this matter.

I do not in any means 'RIP people off'.
Upon submission of a booking form clearly stating acceptance of our terms and conditions
each individual is agreeing to a legally binding contract, this includes the payment of a £50 security deposit, this was also something your friend did not abide by therefore should not of even been sent the covers.

My business is well within its rights, and abides by both contract of order and terms and conditions of orders must be abided by, NO covers will be released unless a security deposit is paid, as with any hire service this is to cover damage etc..

Not only am I astounded at the reason you have given for not answering calls (which does not explain why you never return calls, or respond to voicemail or email) but I am now also getting very angry at the way you are blatently ripping people off and I am becoming determined to now take this further and ensure you cannot get away with it any more.
My friend paid you for 200 chair covers and 200 sashes.
She received 150 covers and 160 sashes.
Both her and me tried to contact you for the two days before her wedding hoping for a solution to this. You did not answer your calls ( and I dont believe you were driving solidly for two days).
Apart from anything else, you were originally booked to come and fit the covers for her on that day, so at the very least you should have made a phone call to make sure what you had provided was adequate?
The covers were poor quality, some were ripped and some had marks on.
Have you telephoned her since she returned them to you to see if the service she received was adequate, or to see if she was happy with the service you provided?
Her telephone number is xxxx , I suggest you ring her and find out.
How easy is it to take £200 off someone, then only send them 3/4 of what they paid you for, safe in the knowledge that they wont be bothered to do anything about it, because they cant contact you? As for weekend being your busiest times, I have myself tried to phone you throughout the week, during the times you specify on your answer message and late evenings.
I believe this needs reporting and people need protecting from this.
If my refund is not in my partners bank account by the end of this week, rest assured I will be seeking legal advice. Not only is it illegal to answer calls whilst driving, what you are doing by obtaining money and not providing a service people have paid for is illegal.

Ive checked back over past orders, and all the sashes and covers were double checkd and signed off for this order.
Friday, Saturday and sundays are our most busiest times therefore it is not very often we have the oppurtunity to answer calls. We travel the length of the country therefore as you will be aware it is illegal for us to answer calls whilst driving, we do apoligise for this however we have to ensure legal issues are met with full demand.

I have sent you about 5 emails, i have left messages on your phone, my partner has left messages on your phone, we have even rang the number at 10 oclock at night as well as all through the day and you never answer it and never respond.
I tried to ring you when you only sent my friend half the sashes and her decoration for her wedding was ruined, you never replied, she also tried to ring you and left messages.
It seems funny to me that you suddenly received last nights message, although it was the exact same email address i sent the others to.
I dont know quite how you are confused, but I am asking for a refund please immediately if you dont want this matter to be taken further.

you are obviously not going to respond to my emails or phone calls, so just to let you know that unless you contact me within 7 days of receiving this email i will be getting legal advice to recover my money from you. I have your address and i have no worries about reporting you to the trading standards and the police.
I find it quite amazing that you are willing to mess about with something as important to people as their wedding.

  • I know of this company, and the main operator, Rebecca.

I believe she started advertising on ebay at £1 per cover and sash, but no longer advertises there? (wonder why?) I used her and lets just say in my opinion she is very unprofessional, covers were dirty, odd, and some ripped.
She has now put prices upto £1.50 as apparently loads were stolen from her?
Loads of very bad reviews posted allover the web, check out sheffield forum and even facebook! and i believe trading standards and watchdog have been contacted.
However she has managed to get loads of reviews removed it seems, youandyourwedding is one that had loads on but now all have dissapeared?

I feel so sorry for all the brides that have left comments and have been let down. I have this companies latest address if anyone wants it?
  • I ordered from this company at the end of Feb and paid in full £230. I too have had endless problems...not being able to get hold of her etc.
This lady has changed her terms and conditions since I agreed to them and now wants a further £50 from me or no chair covers! My dilema is, do I pay it and risk losing yet more money or do I count my losses, leaving me with peace of mind yet with no covers and she gets off scott free??? According to Consumer Direct, I am powerless until she doesn't show up on the day! This is causing so much stress for myself and my partner.
If you have her latest address, could I please have it. Thanks.
