J & R wedding chair covers

has anyone successfully used these guys?
i found them online and booked them and paid them for my wedding in september, and atthe same time, my friend was planning her wedding on a budget in march and she booked and paid for them too.
well her wedding day came along, she had paid for 200 covers and sashes and they only sent 100 sashes so she had to blag it.
we both tried ringing them all day the day before and they didnt answer the phone or reply to messages.
i have sent about 5 emails asking them to ring me or respond to me but nothing.
so i have paid them £100 for my chair covers, now i cant trust them and i want to cancel and get my money back but i cant contact them!
help! what can i do??

    You could perhaps try writing them a letter saying that you want to cancel, get your money back etc and also state that they have 7 days to respond or else you will be taking legal advice or something to that effect.

    Don't know how likely they'll be to respond but anything is worth a shot, especially since it's for such a big day!

    I was looking into chiar covers a while back and saw a really long thread on this company - seems a lot of people have problems with them, but some manage to sort it out. Check out the "J&R" thread on youandyourwedding.co.uk forum.

    I posted about them earlier in the year on this forum, they messed me around with my payment and I got so stressed that I ended up cancelling, which at first they said they wouldn't do, but then I mentioned the distance selling regs and they were a bit more pro-active.

    They seemed like a very cowboy outfit, and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

    Under distance selling regs they have to give you a cooling off period when you buy something online.

    I've read about these on countless wedding forums and only a handful have had a positive story to tell.

    I really dont mean to scare you, but the reports from them are not good. Poor communication - some none existence, failure to turn up or turn up and not fit covers.

    I'd definatly persue them for a refund

    you can google elegance chair covers instead, I am using them for a 1.50 for cover plus .25 for the sash. Their communications have been good and they do send you a proper booking form. You would have to receive the covers by courier and be there for the pickup and fit them yourself obviously too. Mine for 64 guests, work out to be about £140 with the price of the courier (£25).
