CDA Kitchen Appliances

I have a kitchen full of their stuff! Their 'customer service' is APPALLING! They only work Mon-Fri 8-5, about as useful as a chocolate teapot to those of us who work (most companies who deal with the public work at least a one in four weekend shift). They charge an extraordinary amount for a service and they expect you to fit in around their schedule even though you're the customer. You cannot get hold of anyone other than 'customer couldn't care less about you service' so you are brick-walled if you wish to speak to someone more senior in their organisation. I have actually been informed that other customers will take priority over me as it is not a fridge or cooker I have an issue with - I feel so special!
I will never, I repeat NEVER EVER EVER buy their products again.
You have been warned.

I had a new kitchen fitted in 2008. Several of the appliances were CDA. We have had trouble with the Microwave for a while with the door becoming loose. We called out CDA as we thought we had a five year warranty. The engineer turned up and basically bashed and crashed about in the kitchen and then told us he was not happy that he could repair the microwave. That cost us £90! He then went off to write a report. We then had to contact CDA who told us that the Microwave was not covered as it was over 3 years old. But the warranty was meant to be 5 years. Clearly we needed a microwave so we asked what it would cost. They offered to pay part of it, but we still had to pay the ' engineer ' costs and P&P.
We spoke to customer services several times and got differnet messages on costs etc each time. Eventually we had to pay half of the new price plus the call out. We also had to fit the new microwave into the fitted kitchen ourselves.
When the new one came I managed to fit it with no bashing or crashing! It would have been better to just buy a new one and ignore the engineer, the cost worked out the same and I would not have had to bother with CDA and take two half days off work for the engineer and the delivery.
I then wrote to them to tell them how poor it all had been and the fact that warranties were not what they appeared. Not surprisingly I heard nothing back. Their customers services are really poor. Don't expect anything from CDA, cheap product with poor back up.
Kitchen fitting companies tend to use CDA, so be wary if you are having a kitchen fitted. In fact the company who fitted ours KWS from oldham, went bust soon after we had all the work done! Erm my judgement was not good was it!0 -
Had dealings with this company and found their customer service to be absolutely terrible. No return phone calls when I was promised that they would return it the same day. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! My advice is to steer clear of them!!0

I think I may have the only appliance of theirs that works then. I have had an Integrated Dishwasher from CDA for a number of years now and not a single problem with it and it's on at least once a day every day.... Can't fault it.0

We have a double oven and hob fitted 3 years ago with a kitchen.
Last year the large oven element burnt out. Replaced the element myself for 19 pound.
Would u buy again?? , yes, however its no better than any other cheapish brand.0 -
CDA don't actually make anything at all, they buy in badged appliances from a number of different producers.
Laundry is largely from Siltal from what I know of the current range.
Cooking a huge mix.
Cooling again, a mix.
Dishwashing largely Chinese, probably Midea or Haier as the top prospects.
All the laundry and dishwasher stuff I can't really say I'm overly impressed as it's pretty much budget fare trying to compete on price. That is, to offer the kitchen fitter or retailer a low price.
Cooking a better bet generally but not up there with the best by far.
If you want more info on the actual company it's written up here.

Does CDA stand for something? I am currently looking at appliances but have not heard of CDA0

How I wish I had seen this forum before buying a CDA microwave/ grill. We paid £89.50 on July 3rd for one of their engineers to come and replace the time setting knob, which simply turned but wouldn't work. After he left, we discovered the microwave function won't work at all. Any setting puts the grill on.
After innumerable phone calls, promises, emails etc a replacement part was sent a week ago to my house. I still haven't had a call to say when their engineer will turn up. It is now a month since the first one left me without the use of the microwave. Ironically, I could use it on auto before, but he took away even that option. What is particularly annoying is that apart from the cooking aspect, we used it for heating pain relief gel pads.
It is now August 13th. Watch this space.
Their so-called customer care is a misnomer.0 -
Moved into a brand new home with CDA appliances 2 months ago, microwave broke down yesterday, so rang their customer services. They are supposed to come out next week, but thank goodness I read these comments! I have decided to cancel and buy another microwave instead. I was sceptical as the advisor kept saying my guarantee was only valid for one year and I had to prove purchase (not possible as builder purchased it) or I would be charged. I would rather spend the money on a decent make that will hopefully last longer than 2 months. Thank you everyone.0

I'd avoid them in future.0
