30yr old female working part time for a major bank as a Senior Banking Manager - only 19.5hrs due to having 2 young children but my salary is £14378 (would be £25806 if 37hrs).
Perks of job: Free Pivate Medical, Potential to earn quarterly bonuses, Free Shares, Sharesave schemes, Full Sick Pay.
Downsides of job: Absolutely hate it and it is making me ill!!! money isnt everything and I am looking for another job! The banking industry is a nightmare at the moment and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone! Just wish I enjoyed it!0 -
23 yr old female
Recruitment Resourcer for nationwide automotive recruitment agency.
£15k - should get extra bonus' a month but thats a whole other thing!
I work longer than I probably should, hours are 8am - 6pm with 1 hour lunch Mon-Fri
I am the only girl in a office filled of cocky, crude lads and repetitive music I cant stand in the background.
Today is a bad day and I'm stroppy as hell so I'm not enjoying being here at all:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -
26, nearly 27 (eek)... freelance TV researcher for big broadcaster. If I can work out a full year I earn about £30k, no real benefits except I work 10-6 so miss the rush hour
Trouble is generally can expect to be out of work for a month or so a year... sometimes more. So have to save save save to make sure I can afford to be unemployed!0 -
Placement student for an NHS PCT Finance dept
(Back at uni in september wahey!)
Currently earn a little more than £13,000 (before tax) for the year to do a job which would probably pay double if I was qualified/had the experience.
(Big plus points being I have done a lot of jobs so far which senior managers would normally do meaning getting lots of experience!)
Benefits: NHS discounts give me discount at quite a few places incl restaurants, car insurances etc
28 Days + bank holidays off!
Edit: Forgot to say, I'm a 20 year old female0 -
This is a very nice thread.
I have a BA yet have only been working in call centres for the last few years. - I need to aim higher. but have kids to think about
previous job £14,500 37.5hrs (telecommunications - back office work )
current job £12500 30hrs (only recently was 11800 than about 12k than 12200) (bank)
Get bonuses ( can be anywhere from £50 - £400 )no idea nor do I understand how it is worked out - too much formulas for me to care about but keeps management and their managment happy.
about 24 days holiday (bank holidays must be booked out of you annual allowance as its is calculated in). you can buy extra holidays up to a certain amount and money is deducted from your wage - more like unpaid leave
Flexi working is the hardest thing to get - quite a few parents leave because of that.
the pension scheme is supposed to be good
can get discounts of products but it is only about 6% if that.
sick pay covered but best not to be sick or simply just come in sick. after so many sickness bouts you get a talking to about how your absenses affect company figures etc etc
thats the gyst of itwould love to be a home owner. hate private rentingscared of debt. almost debt free.
