    That's more than £100k/year...

You make me sick. Maybe I should drop my Engineering PhD (lousy 19k/year) and try to get a job in banking.

EDIT: This thread is depressing me. How can train drivers make £50k/year?

Maybe the trick is to find the right job for your qualifications. I have a Batchelors in Engineering and an apprenticeship but i've found double the salary you're on. If you're not happy with your salary then do something about it, you have a highly sought after qualification.

Its also about employability. You dont see many introverts giving presentations to a room full of people and leading large teams much like you dont see many extroverts in roles that require seclusion and deep thinking roles. Unfortunately for some the big bucks and Managerial roles are mostly suited to extroverts (its not to say thats a rule but an observation).

Sitting on the net moaning wont get you anywhere. Change your circumstances.
