IMO nowhere near enough for what I do for them esp having worked for them for 12 years - partner doing same job for a different organisation which provides same services is on about £23k having been there for about a year, I don't begrudge some of that because he does have skills which I don't, but it's still a huge difference and I got turned down when I asked for a raise.
Have been keeping an eye out for other work, but it's scary considering something new after so many years of security and knowing my job inside out!
It looks like this thread may be pretty much dead now, but I felt the need to brag about my news a little, knowing that I'd posted this 18 months ago.
I've just accepted a new post for another organisation in the same line of work as my current employers. Part time doing the same as what I already do & part time at a lower rate of pay as a secretary. Despite the partial step down in terms of my role, I will be earning an additional £2k in pay per year, I only lose 1 days holiday to what I've accrued after 13 years with my current employer and they have better sick pay arrangements than my current employer.
The downside is that I will now have a 30 min drive to work and the extra money will go on fuel, but it's definitely a positive move for me, especially as the old company is advertising my post with a top salary £1.5k higher than they paid me "dependant on experience"... apparently my 13 years experience with them wasn't enough!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000
