I'm 31 and I'm an alcoh...sorry wrong forum...information analyst for NHS and on roughly 28.5k
Benefits may not exist for much longer but include flexitime/flexible working, sick pay, reasonable pension, structured, comprehensive and available HR policies etc (sometimes this really helps you out)
My OH is a mental health support worker and is on roughly 18k but this changes as it's shift work (I think it's about £9.80 per hour and £50 for a sleeping night shift) - but you wouldn't usually expect wages this high for support work - he gets extra as his client is sometimes violent and it's 1:1 work (i.e. he's automatically unemployed if anything bad happens to his client).
He won't appreciate me saying this but the benefits are that sometimes (often) on shift there literally isn't anything to do and, well, he gets bored and sees it as a downside, but with internet access I'm pretty sure anyone on this board would see that as an opportunityFinal cigarette smoked 02/01/18

User Experience Designer, 29 years old, £45,000.
Fairly happy with my pay, though it doesn't go that far with a wife and three kids to support. Could probably get another £10-15k a year if I commuted into London every day but that'd mean not seeing my kids during the week and 90% of it'd go straight on train fare and tax so not really that tempting a proposition!0 -
