    house husband (not by choice but due to location and the banks!) £0:00. 1/2 day voluntary at moment hopefully increase to 2 1/2 days per week, then maybe a bar job or something similar for some money

    Well, I'm 55, spent two years out of work after redundancy and finally found a job as an overnight controller in a transport office on £12,000 a year with no extras. A terrible job that bores me silly and destroys my sleep pattern being permanent nights, but it's a job....

    Currently self employed last two years as an engineer.
    Have to live day to day but better off than old job which i wont say but was a form of mechanical engineering/pure craftmanship when i was one of two people in the world with the knowledge at £16k p/a minus 7k p/a travel expenses!

    Used to earn more 16 years ago as an estimator £17.5k 37hrs plus benefits and local.
  • A fresh accountant at local super store. A graduate from Man University with major as finance and accounting, currently my salary is £17000 pa
