Quick Decision Loans. Broker. Scammer?

  • It really doesn't look like you guys have been 'scammed'.
QDL offered a service for a fee and you were happy to pay this fee.
Instead of cancelling all your cards, why don't you just give them a call and sort things out like adults?

A broker isn't going to solve all of your life's problems, they are there to suggest a lender for you. Bear this in mind and be realistic when applying.
I wouldn't ever recommend paying an upfront fee however it's better than going with a 'free' broker, they will make their money from suggesting lenders they get commission from.

I first found out about this through my Experian credit report.
My first thought was, this is a good idea as they find out which loans you will be rejected for and which will accept your loan amount.

I was a bit suspicious at first, as the man was speaking as much english as my pet dog, and rather 'rushing' the phone call, asking for bank details, employer details.

I was told to pay 65.95 i think out my bank, but i told them the payment would have to come out 4 days later due to certain circumstances, so they agreed on this date.

Any good loan company should NEVER ask to pay an upfront fee, these companies make their money from APR, not 'processing' fees.

    - I was not told what interest i would pay back over a year.
    - I was not told if that company would 100% give me a loan.
    - I was not told the FULL loan amount would be lent to myself.

I was in the fortunate position to have taken the callers name, number, reference number, and i phoned the next day to cancel this whole 'agreement'.

They said everything was now cancelled and the payment will not go ahead, again i am in the fortunate position to have registered a new card the day after, as the one used to pay this fee in 4 days was a misspelt card, and i phoned my bank and cancelled this card, cut it up, and informed the bank that this payment was not to go through VIA my Sort code, and Account No.

If i did not know exactly what i was getting, eg loan amount, interest to be repayed, there is no 'consensus in edem', or meeting of the minds.

This IS needed to make a contract legally binding under Contract Law, this is not jibber-jabber language, this is the law.

MY ADVICE IS TO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, THEIR METHODS ARE DEFINITELY NOT REGARDED AS PROBLEM-SOLVING.

So, to conclude, my advice to sorting out debts (Not Advised for HUGE debts) is this:

    - Have a notepad, write down every number for every single organisation you owe money to
    - Phone them, and they WILL negotiate with you to when you will pay this, EG £100 P/M, they may phone you on the day every month, but they will negotiate, as i was told to pay £202-50 then the rest of the full amount within 14 days or it goes to a collector, by the end of the call i arranged to make a payment plan in 3 weeks time when they phone back for the £202-50.

They may be fire-breathing organisations sometimes, but most of them will negotiate.

REMEMER - If you have a steady job, you can pay these.

ANY middle man helping you with your loan, or your debt, will almost ALWAYS want some sort of monetary gift or payment from you, or a percentage of loan, or monthly MGMT fee etc.

    Have a great festive season.

    Johnathan,

QDL are a broker. They won't be making any money from APR.
The fee they're asking for is a broker fee, not a 'processing' fee.

We need to bear in mind that the demographic of people who use loan brokers. Sorry to generalise though the majority of people who would use a broker either wouldn't have access to the internet, or the time to spend searching. This is the broker's market, which of course doesn't include anyone who's on this forum now.

Whilst we may see brokers as a terrible force who only take peoples money, this is because we have different needs than those who brokers are intended for.

Hi guys I had the same experience some of you are describing no more than a couple of hours ago.

Signed up for the free trial from Experian to check my credit rating, then clicked the 'loan finder' option. I presumed it was a service Experian offered that would be like a loan comparison function.

Filled out the form then got the dreaded phone call from a South African lady called Elisha. After going through everything I very foolishly gave my bank account details, I presumed it was so they could match me up with a loan but did have my doubts, still stupidly gave them all the details though.

She said I could get a loan which seemed too expensive anyway, and said to move it forward I had to pay the 69.99, I said I didn't have the funds in my account so she put it in place for the 30th to give me time to think it over and make sure the money is in my account, the loan was through Quick Day Loans.

As soon as the phone hung up I googled and it led me straight here for your various horror stories - I was shocked to say the least.

Anyway I rang them straight back up to cancel, I didn't even give them a chance to argue or offer me anything, I just said Id found something better elsewhere. I asked the lady on the phone roughly SIX times that no money would come out before I got a straight answer, and she did say definitely not.

I then rang the bank to make sure no new debits were set up and they gave me the fraud number just in case.

Suffice to say Ill be checking my bank in the next few weeks just in case, and I cant believe I was so foolish, but like many I trusted Experian not to lead me to such a dodgy company.

Anyway just thought Id share my experience and say thanks to those that already have - you have probably saved me a lot of money and hassle!

Having looked at your responses and taking your concerns into consideration I feel that it is only appropriate to respond.

At Quick Decision Loans we aim to provide you with the best possible service and find you the loan that you are looking to take.

When completing an application for the customer we assess the information provided against the criteria supplied by our lending panel which will determine the provisional decision. If the decision is positive we will inform you of the QDL decision and inform you that we will now send the application to the lender.

The details are then sent to the lender for further review and it is at this point that a credit search will be performed by the lender. The information you have provided and the credit search will then determine if the lender is happy to provide you with the loan, what amount of loan you can have and also the APR they will charge.

If any of the application information is incorrect or is missing vital information this will also have a bearing on the decision.

If you are unable to have the loan or the loan offer is not acceptable you are entitled to a refund and this is mentioned before a fee is processed.

To ensure that we are able to track, audit and offer you a quick and easy process in receiving your refund, we ask that you write to us at 3rd Floor Westmead house, Westmead, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7LP. (95% of all refund requests are repaid with 7 working days)

We at Quick Decision Loans always strive to improve our services and believe that all feedback is positive feedback as this enables us to improve our services to you. We have a friendly Complaints Departments that are equipped to assist and resolve any of your concerns and can be contacted on 012 5255 7644.

    Thank you.

So I just had a 37 minute call with one of the guys from QDL (I made HIM call me back).

I didn't give him my card details to take the 69 & some change pounds from me. He gave me his full name, MY reference number, THEIR registered number, credit license number & all this other stuff I guess he had to had. I asked him a bunch of questions. I think I upset him, because I told him that I think his company is a scam, & he couldn't understand why they would try and scam someone out of 69.95. OH REALLY NOW??

Anyway, he's expecting me to call him back tomorrow with my card details, (I think not). I did ask him if they need 69.95, why can't they just take it out of the loan I've so quickly been accepted for?

I too found them via Experian, I got a call back within minutes when I wanted to "lower my costs"

    But here's my REAL question,
Never mind the 69.95, has anyone ever received their loan in question?

Because as someone said in another reply, they haven't exactly scammed you - they have told you they will be taking 69.95 from you...

So yea, anyone EVER get their loan from quickdecisionloans?!?

    Please share : )

I think Experian should be shot for dealing with such companies.

I also clicked on the finding loans option on CreditExpert, came up with Black Horse for homeowners only...when I'm a private tenant!

I have been badgered incessantly with calls from QDL...all bloody day for the past 3 days. Do they not realise that people WORK and that evenings may be a better time to call? I'm hardly likely to go through a 20 minute loan application whilst sitting at my desk now, am I?

Anyways, I spoke to some dubious sounding asian chap last night. He asked for alot of details. When it got to asking me for my sort code, I questioned him, asking why does he need my bank details, he said to check I had an active account. I said, well you have my name and who I bank with can't you use that? He said Experian wouldn't have recommended us if we weren't a legitimate company. After much reluctance and about 5 minutes more of me questioning his actions, I gave him my sort code. He then asked for my card number! Not my bank account number, my long card number then my expiry date! I said, what the hell do you want my card number for? Are my bank details not enough? He said to check it was active, I said b*****ks to that, no chance. I had visions of them debiting my card. Again he said that as they came through Experian they were legit. I said to him i'm aborting this application. I am not giving this information out over the phone. I also made him insist on a number of occasions that they wouldn't do a credit search. He said they wouldn't, so I'll go ape if they do. so they got my sort code, but not my account number, nor my card number.
Thankfully I cottoned onto their game pretty quickly.

I need to borrow £2k, but not that blooming badly!
  • The same as many of you i made the same mistake, went on experian, filled in my details they passed me on to QDL. I recieved the call this morning. i got the congratulations you have been accepted for the loan, you will recieve the documentation via email from Prequisition loans. Just print it off read, sign and send it back to us. If your not happy with the agreement we have many more lenders that would be interested in helping you. to move forward with this i need to take a broker fee of 69.95 (Me like a spanner did this and also gave my bank details national insurance etc)

I later went on to my experian to see that i have a recorded enquiry from a company called MEM CF LTD. I then went into my emails to find this

    Dear *******,

Thank you for your recent application to PaydayUK (NEWWW).(What? for a 12k loan) Your Payday Loan has been approved for £320.00, although we have been unable to deposit your loan as your debit card and bank details have not been entered.

To finalise your loan, click the link below, enter your debit card, and bank account details and electronically sign. It’s as easy as that! Note that we need your debit card details to take repayment at the end of your loan and your bank details so we can transfer the money to you.

Your loan offer may be lower than the amount you applied for. Don't worry; this is quite often the case. Please note that if you repay this loan on time you may be pre-approved for higher loan amounts if you choose to come back to us and borrow again. Did you know that as PaydayUK (NEWWW) work with Experian, if we have completed a credit check and you repay your loan on time, this could also help to improve your credit rating?

For further information, please feel free to contact us by telephone on 0871 271 6111 (Call charges apply – 10p per minute from BT landlines, mobiles and other providers may vary) or email us at account.services@paydaycontact.co.uk.

    Kind Regards,

    2. The scheming bleeders are going to get a personal visit from me as i only live up the road
    3. My credit history is actually really good and i trusted experian to point me in the right direction
    4. Whats the best plan for this one?, Any ideas? My plan is to go to town on them!
    5. Im actually quite amused with the comedy value on this one!
