well. ive had another response from experian over the QDL thing.
it is:
Thank you for your email, which we received on 11 August 2009.
When using the Lower my Bills facility, where it advises 'No Arrangment Fee', it means that we ourselves 'Experian' does not charge you a fee to pass the information onto a broker.
I have passed you comments onto the manager of the site, so that this can be looked into to ensure that it is not misleading.
I have also passed on your further comments about your concerns about this company and assure you that these will be looked into.
basically, they couldn't give two hoots about my complaint.
I did however this morning, recieive a card from county council this morning stating that Trading Standards are now looking into my claims.
will keep you updated.

Interesting opinion and thanks.
I would like to hear of others experiences regarding loan brokers and the company Quick Decisions loans?
What's your general knowledge of loan brokers? Do they hardly ever obtain a loan or are they usually quite successful?
My problem is, even though I have a credit card and the payments are up to date for the past year, my credit history isn't perfect, so obtaining a loan via my bank etc could be extremely diffciult?
A month ago i went on a link via credit expert and clicked on QDL (Quick Decision Loans) they phoned me and without telling me that there was a charge took £69.95 out of my account when I gave them my card details, thinking they needed that information for a loan. To date I have received contact from one lender which wanted a guarantee that must be a homeowner and have a decent credit record I refused to ask anybody to be in that position and still havent received any more offers and dont expect too. In my opinion this is a scam and should be avoided. I recently just sent an e-mail to experian as they advertised on there site. Hopefully they will look in to it as on there site it clearly states that they will not be a charge for this service.

I too fell for this scam yesterday. When they asked for my account number and sortcode I told them I couldn't give it to them because my bank card doesn't have an account number on it, she then asked for my card number and when I asked her why she advised it was to check that my account allows direct debits (even though I had told her that it did!) like a fool I gave it to her! At the end of the call, after assuring me I had my loan, she hit me with the £69.95 fee line! I went mad and advised that I didn't want to go ahead with the application, she asked why?! I was raging, I told her under no circumstances did I want anything to do with her company! So far no money has been taken from my account but after reading this site I'm really worried. I'm just going to transfer all of my money to my joint account (bless online banking!)! I'm going to the bank tomorrow to report my card lost! I also emailed Experian as I also thought they were trustworthy but I don't expect they will pay attention. I'm gutted!0

Could you give me any numbers/addresses where I can forward my complaint as well?
I'd like to put some evidence in their case, if possible.
I called Experian almost 2 weeks ago and spent about 20 minutes explaining the scam and how difficult I'm finding to get my money back. They said some manager will help me to get my money and that I will receive a response soon through e-mail. 10 days after - no response yet.
This is the second time I'm approaching Experian regarding QDL, and their feedback is the same: they try to sound like it does matter to them, but they don't do anything about it, and after reading that I'm not the only one being practically ignored by Experian, I only can conclude that:
Experian is involved in the scam
look:
- they led us to the scammer
- they know we've been scammed
- they don't do anything about it,
if there's any prosecution about this, logically Experian is responsible as well.0 -
Hello,
I too fell for the same scam from QDL. They led me into thinking they were going to lend me the money I needed, giving me quotes and then congratulating me for my application was "Accepted".
I should have googled them before but as my details were passed on to them by Experian, I thought it was a "safe" company. I was meant to receive a confirmation email and some Dylan was supposed to call me back but never did so I went on Google which led me to this forum, confirming my fears: I had been scammed!
I called them back, they transferred me to the "refund department", I kept waitng for about 10 mins and had to call back. I asked for Kim, who processed the application, the person I had on the phone each time I called had a different name but the same voice and accent, she put me on hold and I waited a further 10 mins in vain.
I have called my bank to report the fraud and they have cancelled my card so QDL can't take more money. I have also sent a letter by recorded delivery to QDL to cancel whatever registration I had with them and ask for a full refund. I am to contact the Office of Fair Trading tomorrow to report this. I think we all should
If anyone got their money back yet, please let me know how you procced.
Many thanks and sorry for being this long.

Hi
Just had a call from QDL told her I wasn't interested in a loan at the moment. She said let me see what we could offer you for the future. She took Bank account number and sort code as well as card number. At end she said about the fee.
I said I didn't want to proceed as I wasn't looking to take the loan out right away. She went on about I had nothing to loose and how quick the refunds were. She said she had cancelled it.
Any advice? Should I cancel the card or can they take the money any other way?2012 wins! can of deodorant, a personalised Bean, craft show tickets, Top Gear Live Tickets, Case of sourz fusion0 -
She went on about I had nothing to loose and how quick the refunds were.
Refunds don't happen often, you'll most probably loose whatever fee they say they're taking, usually around 69 pounds.
If you can, tell your bank about this and, if possible, ask them to block any payments from SMART 2006 LTD, which is the name they figure under on my statements.0 -
I have just been scammed too, you would think that you could trust a reputable firm like Experian to put you through to decent companies, I have just called the company back after reading the posts on this board and they won't answer my questions, they say my email confirmation has been sent and it will be there within 24 hours - 24 hours it takes seconds for an email to hit your inbox, she just said she can't give me anymore information and that I will have to wait until the lender calls me back, now I wasn't even aware that this company was a broker. The lady even said "we aren't ripping you off - we record all of the calls to prove it" and that I will just have to wait until I get a call or email. They actually said that the application had been accepted for a loan of £1,000 - but I feel stupid because they didn't even tell me the APR or anything. I have also paid the 70 quid or whatver it was
