    Hiya!
I think I have made a big mistake? I checked my Experian file, then did a quick online general enquiry about a loan on Experian. The next day I got a call from Quick Decision Loans and told them I would like a loan for £6000.I went through all my personal details with them, job etc etc and this took about 15/20 minutes. They told me to wait for a minute and then they came back to me and told me I would qualify for a loan.
They then told me they are a broker, so then asked me for my credit card details so they could deduct a fee of £60.I told them I couldn't, because that would take me over my limit, but I arranged it as a debit at the end of this month from my bank (now is the 28th of May). They told me once the fee is paid, i will receive some forms from them, as well as some forms from a loan company. They told me also, there is an no obligation process and I can get a refund of the fee if I am not happy. I am getting concerned I could be scammed?

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    QUICK DECISION LOAN APPLICATION
    1. On Sat 6 Feb at around 0900 hrs, I received a call from Chantal of QDL she informed me that Experian had passed on my details to your company regarding an un-secured loan application and that you were given my contact details in order to proceed with an application.
    2. I was happy that Experian had been quite efficient with their service so I proceeded to answer the questions that followed. I gave my Bank account details and NI number and that I required a loan of 12000 in order to consolidate debts.
    3. After some lengthy questioning, she put me on hold for a short time and came back congratulating me that i had been accepted for the loan by Prequisition loans, the details will follow to my email address and i was to read it carefully, print and sign before returning it in the post and that if I was not happy with the agreement APR etc, then I was to contact her as she had many other lenders who would happily help.
    4. She then said in order to release the documents I had to pay an arrangement fee of 69.95 (Payment Ref: 14857425)
    5. I paid the fee by credit card and continued to check my email account; later that day I checked my Experian report to find that I had a recorded enquiry from MEM CF Limited. I went into my emails to find the stated email; (The email address used was the same detail of that recorded on Experian)
    “Dear ,

Thank you for your recent application to PaydayUK (NEWWW). Your Payday Loan has been approved for £320.00, although we have been unable to deposit your loan as your debit card and bank details have not been entered.

To finalise your loan, click the link below, enter your debit card, and bank account details and electronically sign. It’s as easy as that! Note that we need your debit card details to take repayment at the end of your loan and your bank details so we can transfer the money to you.

    (LINK)

your loan offer may be lower than the amount you applied for. Don't worry; this is quite often the case. Please note that if you repay this loan on time you may be pre-approved for higher loan amounts if you choose to come back to us and borrow again. Did you know that as PaydayUK (NEWWW) work with Experian, if we have completed a credit check and you repay your loan on time, this could also help to improve your credit rating?

For further information, please feel free to contact us by telephone on 0871 271 6111 (Call charges apply – 10p per minute from BT landlines, mobiles and other providers may vary) or email us at account.services@paydaycontact.co.uk.

    Kind Regards,

    Underwriting Team Leader”

    7. At this point I was already irritated at the disservice that I had experienced, On Mon 8 Feb 09 I receive a text at 1252 hrs from FLM loans (A sister company of SLM so I was told) stating that a loan account was set up, displaying log in details. I called this company to find that you had passed on my details to yet another loan company again offering a smaller loan amount than requested of £3000
    8. I contacted QDL, explained the situation to another of your representatives and that I wish to have a full refund, I was then told that I would only get a £64.95 back, with this response I requested a complete refund and was then placed on hold. I waited for around five minutes before I hung up as I was at work; I called again to get exactly the same treatment from another of your advisors.
    9. On speaking to the pleasant gentleman with FLM he kindly agreed to remove me from their database and passed an email of complaint to you as this had not been a first time occurrence, he had heard of many.
    10. At 1715 hrs on the 8 Feb 10, I made another call to QDL, If I heard the name correctly it was Sharon (A foreign sounding lady). I again explained to her the circumstances and she said the initial 320 payday loan was something to bridge the gap before you receive your proper loan, I stated that I did not request this and I was not told on the initial application that I would be receiving it, she put me on hold again so she could speak to the complaints department, she informed me that I would receive a call tomorrow by Gillian who will deal with my complaint
    10. I can only perceive the above as some kind of joke, and having looked at the CAG forums I see I am not the only person who has been stung by your company, especially in the current times of financial instability/recession your actions are completely unjustified. Experian will also hear about this as I feel they are partially to blame for this disservice.
    11. As a minimum resolve for the above, I expect a full refund of 69.95 in the next 7 days from the date of this letter, if this is not dealt with in a professional manner; I will be taking further action via OFT and the FOS. Not only am I 69.95 out of pocket for an offer of £320, my fair credit rating now has an unworthy footprint attached to it, for this I expect the recorded enquiry to be removed. Furthermore, if there is any attempt to grant a partial refund I will also take further action.

Hi guys i was also robbed from these guy;s I wasnt explained that i have to pay 65 pound for these aplication form. And i wasnt having money in my bank account and these guys have done a overdraft from mine visa debit card.I have allready ask for refund. My quistion is how these guys have done an overdraft from my account??? Is this legal?

I suppose it depends if QDL are registered as a guaranteed transaction.... ? a bit odd though. You would have to ask your bank on that one. I know if mine goes passed my OD it moves into my reserve which just costs me 22 a pop to use

  • Ok, I have just signed up to reply to this. I believe I have just made a huge mistake also. So i need some advice please on it!

I made the mistake of accepting everything this company said (QDL) and gave them all of my details and let them take the £69 out of my account like an idiot.

Only found this after I had done so. I want to cancel it obviously, as it appears to be a scam and I don't know why I even agreed. There was me thinking Experian would send me to someone reputable.

I rang up to cancel my application and got through to a woman who could not speak english at all... I canceled the application, but apparently I need to write for a refund. I didnt ask anything more because I couldnt understand what she was saying at all.

Now the payment is not showing as been taken from my bank, but she said they cant cancel it as the payment has already been proccessed? Hence me having to write in...

Now whats the best way to get my money back asap? I can not afford to lose any money at all at the moment. I need a small loan to pay off car finance on a car I don't have any more...

To stop them getting the money at all, what is the best way to do it, minus reporting my card as stolen?

Please help me... I cant believe I was so dumb...

    Thanks

  • i have done exactly the same but with a different loan company , i applied for £4000 a few wks ago but never heard anything back , then yesterday i received confirmation in the post outlining what date my repayments started, what apr etc along with my payment card to pay back the loan. they asked in the letter that i paid £35 for a same day CHAPS transfer as soon as i had paid the funds would go to my account if done before 3pm.

i did this a dinner time yesterday and still nothing . i have emailed them - no reply.

was on hold for and hour and a half in a queue in the end i gave up .

Hiya, firstly if its not cleared with your bank already you can contact your bank and ask them to dishonour the payment. If they have already taken it, cut and paste my letter above, send to the same address and you will get a full refund. Dont let them offer you 64.95 (5 for administration, i had to laugh). Once i gave them some stick they cracked. Also send the letter to a woman named Geraldine shes head of complaints. You will never get to talk to her on the phone though...... already tried that numerous times, im sure she was scared lol, hence the rather quick refund

    Hope this helps!

  • I'm disappointed that you were unhappy with the Service from QDL.

As a company we pride ourselves in finding customers the loans that they are looking for. We realise that in all cases this is not always possible as we base our decision on the information provided by the customer on the telephone.

If this information is incorrect and also does not match information as found on your credit bureau report this can adversely affect the decision on your loan.

Any customer that is not completely satisfied with our service is entitled to a refund and upon receipt of your request in writing you will have a refund in your account within 10 days.
