At Quick Decision Loans we aim to provide you with the best possible service and find you the loan that you are looking to take.
When completing an application for the customer we assess the information provided against the criteria supplied by our lending panel which will determine the provisional decision. If the decision is positive we will inform you of the QDL decision and inform you that we will now send the application to the lender.
The details are then sent to the lender for further review and it is at this point that a credit search will be performed by the lender. The information you have provided and the credit search will then determine if the lender is happy to provide you with the loan, what amount of loan you can have and also the APR they will charge.
If any of the application information is incorrect or is missing vital information this will also have a bearing on the decision.
If you are unable to have the loan or the loan offer is not acceptable you are entitled to a refund and this is mentioned before a fee is processed.
To ensure that we are able to track, audit and offer you a quick and easy process in receiving your refund, we ask that you write to us at 3rd Floor Westmead house, Westmead, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7LP. (95% of all refund requests are repaid with 7 working days)
We at Quick Decision Loans always strive to improve our services and believe that all feedback is positive feedback as this enables us to improve our services to you. We have a friendly Complaints Departments that are equipped to assist and resolve any of your concerns and can be contacted on 012 5255 7644.

So you can add me to the ever increasing list of people who unwittingly got scammed by QDL.
Jen - if your company was genuinely offering a service that helped people access loans, fitting their criteria, no one would complain at paying a fee.
It may be the fact that fee is only mentioned at the end of a long and often stressful telephone call that makes us all feel duped, robbed and abused.
It may be that just so many people are misled by your company, suitable loans never seem to materialise.
I was told QDL had found a company that would be able to offer me the loan I wanted and they would be in touch within 24 - 48hrs. I rang back after the 48hrs was up and was told to ring back in a couple of days, a couple of days??? - Hardly a professional approach.
Like a idiot I did as I was advised and rang back 24hrs later to be told much the same thing. When I didn't agree that this was acceptable and I wanted to know who would be providing my loan I was told that FLM (yes loans uk) ** correction the company is flmloansDOTcoDOTuk (typical APR 42.6% - loans ranging from £500-£5000) would be lending me a 60% of the money I requested but I would need to find a home owner to guarantee the loan - the whole point of using your service was to get an unsecured loan.
Any company that is honest and above board will be upfront and clear about all costs incurred at the start of a transaction.
Any company that had the interests its clients at heart would be clear on the type of loans available.
Any company that is concerned for its credibility would look at the complaints being made and change its policies to address the complaints - e.g. be clearer about the fee and provide refunds without hassle.
I would be interested to know what percentage of people on this thread have had refunds - bearing in mind how your company appears to interpret information - it doesn't seem likely that the 95% you quote is accurate
Your complaints department may be friendly - but getting to talk to them is a mission.
And yes I am still waiting for a refund

Here's another sucker to be added to the list, I applied for a small loan to help pay off some council tax that I owe, and they contacted me the same day, and I got the "Congratulations, you have been accepted" spiel, went through the talk of the £69.95 fee (and I should say, I have never applied for a loan in the past, so this is a first time for me and I didn't know how it worked), once that was done they said I should check my e-mail for a document to sign and send off, all I got was a "Proposal agreement for personal loan", nowhere to sign and date to agree to the terms, and in a big "stamp" it says "Client Copy", so in my view, I keep that, not send it off to them...
8 Working days later (they said I'd have money within 7), I look them up on the web, and low and behold, I come across many complaints about them, so, I'm still in the brown stuff with the council tax (yes, I know I should have paid it off at the time, but I have mental health issues which makes things very difficult), AND I'm out of pocket by nearly £70, which I can ill afford being on Incapacity benefit...
So, more investigating, and I find the FSA's website saying "No longer authorised, do not do business with this company", so, they're not only taking money from innocent people, but they're also operating illegally (as far as I can tell), and yet, nobody has bothered to tell them!!! So, where do we stand? We can write to them demanding the money be returned, including the £5 they claim as a fee for themselves, but it probably won't get anywhere for most...
I'll try getting my money back, but, who knows, they may just shrug me off...
Oh, I found a couple of e-mail addresses linked to the company, may not be valid, but, I'll post them anyway:
beverley.kinchentonATquickdecisionloans.com
and:
beverleykinchentonATquickdecisionloans.com
Might be useful, never know...

So I am waiting to speak with a representative of Consumer direct - a government funded website - I was given their details by Action fraud - another government initiativeAction Fraud is the UK’s national fraud reporting centre.
If you’ve been scammed, ripped off or conned, there is something you can do about it. Speak to us.
If online shopping fraud has cost you money, call us now.
If you’ve been a victim of identity theft, please get in touch.
We can beat fraud if we talk.
Early recognition of fraud can be vital, so no matter whether you think you’ve been a victim of fraud or you just want to know how to protect yourself, this is the place to start.
Action Fraud is a central point of contact to call and get help if you’ve been a victim of fraud.
Interestingly I only found out about these websites when I googled loan brokers - wow some dodgy looking sites out there.
I had a conversation with a man called Dion a complaints representative from QDL - upshot of the conversion is that they are processing my refund - and I should have it refunded within the next ten days - I only got 64.95 back and told that they would be removing all my details.
On a lighter note - I asked why all the sales reps all seem to have the same name - when they are mentioned in this thread and elsewhere - everyone seems to have spoken to Crystal - rest assured they have another rep called Jade - (small company then????)
Also having checked out the website - not easy to do - the English is poor and the typos frequent - nowhere on the QDL site does it say that they are loan brokers .......
Please if you have the time "twocvbloke" please could you point me in the right direction on the FSA's website - I would love to read what they have to say.
I will re-post if consumer direct have anything useful to add.0 -

The FSA site is wwwDOTfsaDOTgovDOTuk/register/firmSearchForm.do and to bring up info on Quick Decision Loans put "QDL" into the Firm Name box and "GU14 7LP" in the postcode box, same applies for "Smart 2006 LTD" (appears on statements) and "Simply Credit", all the same company as far as I have read through google...

Thanks twocvbloke
I just followed your links and did a search on FLM/Yes loans - these are the people that QDL told me would give me my loan - on their website they claim to be a loan broker
When I did the search on the FSA website they came up as current status: Introducer A.R. this compared to someone like Santander UK Plc who have current status: Authorised
according to money made clear the FSA jargon buster site this meansIntroducer A.R. (Introducer Appointed Representative) (FSA Register)
A firm that can only introduce customers to a firm or members of the firm’s group, and/or give out certain kinds of marketing material. It must be a representative of either an authorised firm or an EEA-authorised firm.
I am still not clear but it doesn't seem to tell me that they can lend money .....
any help on what and how the FSA operates and what jargon means/works would be great
Here's a new contact for QDL :
Jacqueline Margaret French
Address:
4th Floor, Westmead House, Westmead, Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 7LP
Phone: 44 0870 979 9505
Fax: 44 0870 979 9506
Email: jfrench@qdloans.com
QDL also trades under the following:
QDL Marketing Limited
QDL /QDL Internet/QDL Marketing/QDL-Loans/QDL.biz
Quick Decision Finance/Quick Decision Loans & Mortgages
One more question my details were passed to QDL by Experian - should they (experian) be listed with the FSA? - I can't find any details and they don't appear to have a registered address........
- I found it Registered name: Experian Limited Registered office: Landmark House, Experian Way, NG2 Business Park, Nottingham NG80 1ZZ, United Kingdom
They are 'Appointed Representatives' whose Principals are
AXA PPP Healthcare Limited
Motorfile Ltd and
Vehicle Mileage Check Ltd
the more I look into this the more I think my money would be better off under my mattress ......0 -
OK so here's the result
QDL are obliged to refund 64.95 of the 69.95 fee they charged me as I am not satisfied with the loans they found for me.
The piece of legislation that deals with this is Section 155 of the consumer credit act 1974. wwwDOToftDOTgovDOTuk/shared_oft/reports/consumer_credit/oft301.pdf
The consumer direct people are only an advice service but having voiced my concerns they will pass my issues on to trading standards
The FSA is a regulatory body and again needs to be approached with individual concerns about QDL
So I would say if you have been "scammed" like me write to QDL the address is listed in this thread quoting the legislation above and you should get most if not all of your money back.
Contact The Office of Fair Trading, the Trading Standards Institute , and Experian either in writing or by phone and hopefully someone other than us will realise that this is a morally reprehensible company that prays on the desperate and maybe they can do something to stop them.
