Quick Decision Loans. Broker. Scammer?

I can't believe after all this time and complaints going through various channels - QDL is still linked to Experian!
I very nearly fell into the same trap today but was angered they tried to take a £69 fee off me with out any details of the loan or applications forms etc!!
It wasn't until I googled it after I realised I could have made the same mistake.
I have e-mailed Experian customer services to see what they have to say on the matter.
You honestly think Experian give 2 hoots :-) They are probably getting a percentage

When I spoke to Experian, the other day they did seem genuinely concerned and the more complaints they get, the less likely they are to ignore the problem.
Another quick update - when checking my messages yesterday I had, had a call from Tina Haskins - she works for Hampshire trading standards and is currently investigating QDL. My information was passed to her via the consumer direct helpline. So even though it may not be quick thinks are definitely happening.
Hey Wolffo - glad you didn't get scammed!:)0 -
because I selected to get advice on the phone from a tool in the Experian creditexpert.co.uk website, which is rather a quality credit advice site.
The only difference between Experian and QDL is that Experian are rather better at hiding their Scamming. One wonders how much commission they have made over the years by directing people to QDL for loan brokerage services.
There have been, to my knowledge, numerous complaints to Experian about this issue, but they keep raking it in.
When you cancel your QDL, remember who sent you there in the first place and take appropriate action:D0 -
Hi i used qdl loans on tuesday 20th of april 2010 and today im writing this is sunday and we have only just managed to get a way to get our money back and its not even in our account yet! ive been fighting for my money since thursday when i discoverd that there was no loan (had to phone the supposed loan company myself) then to phone qdl and to be told that the money had been taking out my account even tho that shouldnt have happend until the loan went in. A couple of days after shouting down the phone the LINE MANAGER promised me a guy called "dion" who i have noticed is mentioned in the forms already would be investagating my case and would phone me bk by the end of the day. NEVER GOT THE PHONE CALL phoned them again and FINALLY got put through to the refund department and now waiting on the pennies going into the bank OH heres A BIG TIP when they say u have to write a hand written letter and send it in the post , dont let them, tell them u will write it and scan it and email it to them asap they let me do it after bout 20 mins of shouting, so if they let me they will let you, anyone who is having a problem like this is more than happy to use my name as a reference, and i also contacted credit experian they were not happy to find out about qdls handling of this and are investgating too so happy days!0

Please tell us you felt you HAD to hand write it and scan instead of using Word or summat :rotfl:
Do you any idea how long it takes to press the Delete button when an email arrives??
There's a reason it is advised to post it by recorded mail.....Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling0 -
Hi guys,
Similar story here with Experian passing on QDL for a loan i required for a surprise holiday for my wife. Application accepted for £1000 by flm loans and was quoted by Dion at QDL a repayment over 12 months of £92.59 pm.
Sounded reasonable to me considering. Said that would be fine, but he said i would need a guarantor. I said to him at 50 yrs of age, i would not be asking anyone to be a guarantor for me and if it was the only way to get this loan, i would leave it. He asked me to wait a minute and then returned and said as it wasn't a large loan, that would be fine. All i would need to do, was to pay a brokers fee of £69.95 and if i changed my mind and didn't accept the loan from flm, i would be refunded all bar £5. At the end of the conversation, Dion then told me, i was eligible for a payday loan of £330 and as it was only 12 days till i got paid, i would only need to pay back £550. GOSH, HOW GENEROUS OF THEM!! As you can imagine, i declined his kind offer. When i got the forms from flm and of course 15 txt messages in between, oh and about another 10 emails, the actual loan offer for £1000, stated repayments would actually be £118 per month over 12mths. Also i would definately have to get a guarantor. I called flm and stated i would not want the loan after all. The oriental sounding lady asked why i was cancelling, so i told her the quoted repayments were greatly different to the amount given me by QDL. She asked me to wait a moment and then returned with a new offer on £1000. £50.50 per month over 36 MONTHS. I nearly fell off my chair. NO NO NO i exclaimed, its just getting worse. Ok, she said, i'll cancel your account. I called QDL today, to ask for a refund. The call centre appears to be in South Africa, as i asked why the line was so poor. When i asked her for the address, all she could tell me was that it was Farnborough House, Farnborough. She didn't have a damned clue. I have now sent a note to QDL through the website, asking for a complete refund and i will also put it in writing now that i have retrieved the full addy from this site. I'm absolutely amazed Experian recommend these people, but like other subscribers to Experian, i only pay my monthly £6.99 to keep an eye on my financial status. I will not be using there advise for anything else.:mad:0 -
Looks like Experian really don't care!l I heard back from Experian and this is what they said -
"SUMMARY:
- I understand your concerns about Quick Decision Loans.
- We are very careful about which companies we work with and all are FSA approved."
And that was all! Experian are obviously very careful about how much money they make by passing our details onto QDL! Certainly makes me more confident! :T0 -
I finally took a call from QDL today as they had been relentlessly ringing my home, my mobile plus sending texts.
When the girl asked for my debit card details I refused and said I wasn't happy handing out my personal information and she said 'we are regulated by the fsa and also remember it was experian who passed your details to us...' Then said if I didn't give the details she couldn't get me an 'instant quote' as the companies need the information to check that I had 'an active bank account'....
I stupidly relented and she then put me on hold whilst she ran my details through the system to see what companies came up. She came back and said one of the companies had guaranteed me the loan and that they would be in touch with the terms and APR and that she would be deducting £69.95 for 'finding' the company for me and that I would get the money back when I took the loan out. I said 'and what if their APR is extortionate and I don't proceed with the transaction' and she replied I would still have to pay the fee!
Well, I kicked up a right stink and said at no time was this fee mentioned or I would have refused to carry on with the conversation. She became quite stroppy and I demanded to speak to someone else. I ended up speaking to a guy in customer services and he tried to make out that she had explained this to me at the beginning. I said 'NO SHE DIDN'T AND IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME LISTEN TO THE RECORDED CONVERSATION BETWEEN US!!!' He then said nothing had been actioned and my application hadn't been completed???? and he would ensure no monies would be collected and all of my information would be deleted...
I will have more sense in future and consult these forums BEFORE proceeding with anything of importance.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!:T:money::A0 -

Unbelievable, you would think that any reputable loan company would jump at the chance to give a 3000 pound loan to a chap who is earning 55 pounds a week in benefits.
So to recap, you rang up a company and spoke to Charlie Brown, (you clearly were an important customer as normally people have to speak to Linus, Pig Pen or Lucy first) and then you sent off a money gram to a firm registered in India.
This guy is clearly not a troll, you couldn't make a story like that up
