Naming and Shaming won't do a thing. These people don't care, as long as they're making money out of mugs like us it's business as usual. What we need is for the police to act and arrest individuals. Clearly this is a case of fraud just like any other and should be dealt with in the courts....0

I paid consumer advice uk £199 but never went any further as I was interested in bank charges being returned(which they verbally told me they could but wasn't shown on their correspondence) and not credit cards or loans.
I would like to know if it is worth trying to reclaim that money and who I contact to do so.
Thank you0 -

i have recentley found myself in the same position. If you paid them by credit card you can claim your money back (so the minestry of justice told me).I contacted my card company who have sent me a dispute form,i await their response, meanwhile i have contacted a company called legal redress who were dealing with all 7 marketing claims, they sopped dealing with them in november 09,they told me they still had my claim & would look at it without any upfront fees but they do take 30% of anything you get back.I will let you know the end result.
30%... what a rip-off! I'd get your money back and say you're not interested...
I'm also claiming back after partially using a credit card. I'll be persuing the remaining PPI claims myself.0 -
Buyer Beware
Legal Redress Marketing Ltd was struck off and dissolved on 26 Jan 2010
They were based in Swansea
Legal Redress Ltd (CRM 13352) also based in Swansea uses the same address as Chatwins Solicitors LLP who used to act for 7 Marketing.
When I contacted Chatwins in early Jan 2010 I was told that they could continue to pursue my claim however I would need to pay fees upfront as per usual.
Interestingly, the person from Chatwins that provided this information is the same person whose directorship of Legal Redress Ltd was terminated in December 2008.

Sounds to me like they're all in bed together...0

How do you go about claiming any ppi back by yourself, please advise.
CHEERS

You then write to the firm that actually sold you the insurance with your reasons for the complaint and then give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. Send your letter by recorded delivery or get a proof of posting and if they do not uphold it then they should give you the option of FOS (if under jurisdiction that is). Its only the price of a stamp so give it go.
Good luck0 -

I wish I had seen this forum before getting involved with 7 marketing, this is my sorry tale. I had been cold called by 7 marketing and paid £99 for them to assess our loans/bank charges early last year. I sent them details of various loans some paid off some still active. Simon Fowler then contacted me to say they had identified a loan that was unenforceable and they needed £600 for a one off solicitors fee which would be refunded if the case went to court win or lose. I foolishly paid as he also told me that within 3 months my payments would be legally suspended and then the loan frozen until the outcome of the case. I was then contacted by Chatwins LLP who told me my case was not worth pursuing. They confirmed to me that they had not received any money from 7 marketing on my behalf for the case and would not expect to as the case was initially a no win no fee basis for it's referral. I contact Simon at 7 marketing to request a refund and he said yes but would check with Legal Redress to check any advance payments to them, but to expect a refund within 28 days. I should have received a refund by 18/12/09. It never came, what a surprise. I have spoken to both Legal Redress (very helpful)and Chatwins LLP who in particular have been brilliant, and I have contacted Ministry of Justice. I am currently pursuing a charge back through my bank as I paid with a debit card and will let you know what happens. The MOJ also quite helpful told me yesterday that 7 Marketing has appeared as Authorised Business again after showing it's approval as suspended which I think means they are able to trade again. I also found out that the business address is shared with Swansea's Trading Standards office who I am contacting after posting this message. If you were ever tempted to continue dealing with this business please don't.0
