I think it works like this - the company in Birmingham are called Uk money solutions, whereas the one based in Swansea is Uk money solutions LTD. I would imagine that it would take a while to get a license, so in the mean time whilst waiting to get one, they are contacting customers, offering to put them in a debt management program, and then if the customer says yes, they then transfer their details over to an official debt management company, who pay Uk money solutions ltd for the lead. It would also seem that the customers that are being called, having a debt management plan offered to them, is the same database of customers that was used to offer PPI claims, as surely, after the company went into administration the data may not have been deleted? So rather than waiting to get a license and then contacting customers, they are doing it in a roundabout way0

While I do believe that man is inherently good, I do not subscribe in this case.
These guys have done this before. I have done enough research on them to know their modus operandi.
Be careful out there0 -
I finally got a reply from the OFT: -
Consumer Credit Act 1974 (the Act)
Complaint Against: UK Money Solutions Ltd & 7 Marketing Limited t/a Consumer Advice UK
Licence No: Unlicenced
Thank you for your email received on 15 April 2010.
Under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, if a business wishes to be involved in activities relating to consumer credit or hire, including debt collection and debt management, they must have a consumer credit licence. The Office of Fair Trading (the OFT) has duty to enforce the Act, along with local authority Trading Standards Services (TSS).
Upon checking the information provided in your email, it appears that these traders does not hold consumer credit licence. I have therefore forwarded your complaint to the TSS where the trader is based for it to consider investigating the matter of unlicensed trading in their area. The TSS is:
City and County of Swansea
Environment and Health Department
The Guildhall
Swansea
SA1 4PE
t: 01792 635600
f: 01792 635676
w: City and County of Swansea Trading Standards website
Your local TSS may be able to provide further advice, or you may wish to consider seeking independent legal advice.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Yours sincerely

Dear Sir/Madam
Consumer Credit Act 1974 (the Act)
Complaint Against: UK Money Solutions Ltd & 7 Marketing Limited t/a Consumer Advice UK
Licence No: Unlicenced
The OFT has received a complaint about the above mentioned traders. Please see the attached correspondence which gives further details about this.
Traders who are engaged in activities relating to consumer credit or hire, the collection of consumer debt, or commercial debt management need a consumer credit licence. However, according to our records, this trader does not hold a consumer credit licence.
Since this trader appears to be based in your local authority’s area you may wish to investigate whether this trader has been engaging in unlicensed trading.

The S**** D***** guy mentioned on that forum is the same guy as the J*** H****** that previously owned those other businesses on Wind Street, Swansea. A quick google and people will know who I'm talking about.
Unbelievable that these cowboys think they can still trade and get away with it. Shouldn't these people be in jail for fraud already?!??!?!?0 -
