Hi Hayleyj
I'm not sure of how to go about and claim back my £200. Would you please help me to recover this, by a step by step approach? I would be most grateful if you would0 -

hi HayleyJ, do you have a copy of the complaint letter you sent to the MOJ which you could share on here please?0

Hi Pals & Intruder,
My letter was very personally specific, as I stated the dates & times of all the phone calls and provided copies of all correspondence. The contact details for the MOJ are on the first page of this thread. Write your letter to them and explain how they contacted you originally and what they promised you. Also provide details of any subsequent conversations. I started my complaint letter with the following:
"Regrettably I find myself in a position where I have no alternative but to complain to you directly regarding the conduct of 7 Marketing Ltd in Swansea.
In October last year, Simon Fowler from 7 Marketing “cold-called” me and claimed that he could guarantee, on a no-win-no-fee basis, a refund of the PPI that I had paid on an old loan with Paragon Personal Finance. I had been trying myself to get the money back from Paragon for some time, but was having no joy and Simon told me that their solicitors had never lost a case and that he could guarantee that I would receive my money back by the next March or April (2009). All I would need to do is pay £99.99 for “administration costs” and he would send me a pre-paid envelope to all of the necessary information and any correspondence/files that I had. Simon stated that if, at any point, their solicitor found that they would not be in a position to obtain the refund, I would get my £99.99 back. So, believing that there was no further financial risk to myself, I agreed that 7 Marketing would represent me."
I then provided my personally specific info - as stated above - and closed the letter with the following:
"Notwithstanding the fact that 7 Marketing’s customer service principles are non-existent, this company is acting in a wholly inappropriate and unethical manner. They are opportunistic and lack integrity. It is a disgrace that they are seeking opportunities to manipulate and take advantage from already vulnerable individuals who are desperately trying to recoup monies that were taken from them by other financial “sharks”. I believe that 7 Marketing are acting in manner that is not in the spirit of the guidance and regulations laid out by the Ministry of Justice.
I would kindly ask that you instigate an investigation into the conduct of this company’s undertakings. Additionally, Laura* advised me that I would only get a refund of my admin fee if the Ministry of Justice provided 7 Marketing with written notice that they had to! I would be grateful if you would do this. I would also require a refund of interest on the amount and will be happy to accept a further £100 compensation payment from 7 Marketing for the poor treatment and lack of customer service.
I would be very grateful if you would acknowledge receipt of this complaint. You can do this either in writing or you can call me on xxxxxxx."
*Laura was the customer service idiot at 7 who deserves to be garrotted!!
I hope this helps you guys. Don't take it lying down - there is always a way to get payback.
Cheers

Thanks Hayleyj
Your reply is very informative, my case is a little different from yours, and you’re right they are all greedy idiots; I have already sent a letter to 7 Marketing Ltd; by recorded delivery this time on the advice from the MOJ! And now I am awaiting 7 Marketing Ltd reply, I was not nearly as thorough as you, but they also promised me the earth or my money back! I did smell a rat, and paid by Barclaycard, thinking that Barclaycard would take up my case? in the advent that 7 Marketing would default on anything, but as I said earlier in this thread, I return the information pack back within the cooling off period, 7 Marketing have not indicated they haven't receive it, and now I am hoping they will refund my £199.99 back to me, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Had a very similar call myself from a company claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice and askig questions about my mortgage, who my mortgage was with, how much it was worth, what the insurance was on it.................
The upshot was, they were asking for £149.99 up front to try and reclaim insurance on mortgage payment protection cover. Sounds very very similar to 7 Marketing.
Not a chance of handing over any money to them!!!!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Anybody claiming to be from the MoJ or other Govt dept is telling lies.
Unlike loan PPI, most MPPI plans are perfectly fine. So, any claims company telling you to pay up to claim on an MPPI is also on dodgy ground (its only the single premium MPPI plans that are considered mis-sales or if you were not eligible at point of sale - self employed are covered under MPPI).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
HayleyJ, thanks so much for the info. your letter really does sound like you meant business! im gonna take some bits out of your letter as my situation is slightly different and (being such a newbie at this) i havent kept a log of dates/times/who i spoke to etc.
however, i have managed to finally get through to 7 marketing yesterday. they said their phone system had been changed (yeah right) hence the problems getting through to them. when i asked why their website had been down, the lady checked it....and said she will inform her manager (apparently they were not aware!)......
this is a micky mouse company....if anyone gets a call from 7 marketing....STEER WELL CLEAR of their nasty ways!!0
