WARNING - Ryanair 'online check in' farce

OMG yet another lets slag Ryanair thread. Although I do think OP should have been helped a bit more by Ryanair check in staff (perhaps if they did what Easyjet do and call people to the front awaiting a shortly departing flight) then this mess wouldn't have happened. However it did and it's a lesson to be learnt, not only for the OP but it's taught me to get there as early as possible now too.
I prefer Easyjet, I have my reasons (including that my destination has more departure times than Ryanair). Thats not to say I don't think Ryanair are good and once I get my damned passport I'll certainly be taking the £1 flights again. As long as you play by their rules, which are very long winded then your all good. Mess up and your screwed, I wouldn't moan about something to do with a flight unless I had genuine reason to...in this case I think the OP did.0 -
the way you are getting so angry over this, is actually very over the top, are you related to Michael O'Leary or have some financial interest in Ryan Air?? I have highlighted some of your comments above and think its seems well over the top for "a normal customer" to be getting so upset over people daring to say negative things about a flipping airline!!!
Angry? I'm fed up, but certainly not angry.
And no, sadly, I don't have a financial interest in Ryanair. For an airline with so much cash, they're a solid bet for the futureThere really really are more important things to get upset about, starving children, poverty, war etc, not an airline!!
Oh and I have never asked or expected free drinks, just think charging for the toilet is wrong. Please dont put words in my mouth.
Who said I was upset? I'm fed up of stupid people coming on this forum and complaining about this and that about Ryanair - why don't they just vote with their feet and don't book Ryanair? Simple. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Hey PBS...why don't you take your own advice and ignore these threads. Then you wouldn't be so 'fed up'.....or are you, as I and some others may suspect.....a sourpuss with very poor interpersonal skills?
Before you become outraged at my suggestion....think about glass houses and stones.0 -

lol lol
there are people who take these threads far too seriously, like i said above there are far far more important things like, children dying, poverty, war etc.
Ryan airways really arent that important at all and certainly not worth getting upset over!! I wish ryan airways was the only thing in the world to be fed up about, but alas the things that I quoted above, in my humble opinion are much much more important.
ps I dont like the fact that having an opinion that pbs doesnt like or agree with makes me stupid!Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T0 -
If that is the case fine, but funnily enough I live in London and don't read the Irish times!!!!! I saw this on more than one occasion online in news stories and the general press, so I do apologise for getting it wrong!!!!!
The Irish Times is available in almost every newsagents in London. Try looking for it in Glasgow!0 -

My point wasn't that I couldn't get the irish times, it was I live in London, why would I be reading an Irish newspaper! I am sure it's a very interesting paper, but I am have limited time and will spend that reading a newspaper with stories covering my area and the world.Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T0 -
Sorry to butt in here, but just getting thread back on track. In response to the ryanair problems at Stansted, can i just add my findings???
We flew Stansted to Reus this Sun, left at 12.15pm. We arrived at airport for 9.20am, there was a customer services desk (right next to the check in desks) which was manned by 2 representatives. There were plenty of signs clearly stating that everyone has to check in on line now. If this wasn't done at home, customers where pointed to the small kiosks...it also stated not to que up for bag drop unless you had checked in first. I believe that there is at least 2 rows of check in desks dedicated to ryanair (although not every one is manned!!!). And each desks (bag drop off point) would accomodate luggage for any flight. There where no queues when we arrived at stansted, max 3 - 5 people milling around. I asked one of customer service rep's how long before our flight we could drop our bags off, she said 3.....yes 3 hours!! So dropped them off, took us min time to show bag drop person our paperwork (as they have to know where to send your bags, i'm assuming they aren't psychic) and job done.....we had the next 2 ish hours to have a cuppa and a shop!!!
However we still had to 'check in' at reus yesterday...i.e queue up!!! This online check in should be rolled out accross their entire network if it is going to be taken seriously by us fee paying passengers.
May i say I sympathise with OP dilema, but would have gone into meltdown if i'd left it that fine to get thro customs etc, regardless of which airline i was flying with!_pale_
I found no problems with ryanair what so ever, and never have. So many people where trying to take more than 15 kg hold luggage or 2 hand luggages....and seemed surprised to be questioned??:silenced:0 -
just think charging for the toilet is wrong.

The statement below is taken from The Irish Times dated 7th March 2009:RYANAIR CHIEF executive Michael O’Leary has come clean and admitted that his proposals to charge passengers to use the toilet on aircraft was just a cheap publicity stunt.
Why do you keep banging on about Ryanair charging to use the toilet?0 -

What part of 'it was a publicity stunt' do you not understand? :wall:
Why do you keep banging on about Ryanair charging to use the toilet?
It was in three different business sections of tabloids either yesterday or day before that Ryanair were planning to charge to use the toilets. I can't remember the exact quote but it said all planes were being converted to charge to use the toilet and it was pretty simple to fix. Also something like less people will use the toilet so they could knock a toilet out of a plane creating six extra seats and making flights even cheaper.
Don't quote me, but I'm positive I read that.0 -

You did read it, it was in The Guardian on-line at least. One quote was that if people couldn't be charged to use the toilet he'd charge them to get out!
Still just a joke as far as I'm concerned although I could imagine the number of toilets being reduced to get more seats in.0
