We recieved the same thing this morning- a book claiming we has subscribed to a book club.We phoned them up to complain and they tried to claim someone in the family ha signed up. Bo*****S ! So we have just to keep the useless book. I think its a disgrace- and fortunately I did a search on here and found out it is a scam. Anyone we can complain to ? as some people will get conned by this.0

No - haven't received anything - apparently needs to go via another Department. A/C put on hold for 28 days apparently. I will be following this up with a letter.
I do find it amazing that so many people have "been scammed" and supposedly signed up via a PopUp......

I suspect the mutual points wesite which I visited recently and also buymeaticket website (or something like that) for passing my details on. Not sure though.0

I recieved a crapy book last week also, well it was left outside in the rain, with a card posted through the letterbox.
There is no way i am wasteing my dosh phoneing them up, just to tell them to came and collect, as far as i am concerned they have sent me a free book, i didn't ask for it, or joined their club.
They dont have any of my bank details etc, so how are they going to claim the £0.99 from me, and payment for any others they send me.(free)
Plus they have no proof i have recieved any book.0 -
Mine was signed for by a neighbour, so I was unable to adopt this attitude. I am still concerened that they might try to chase payment and record a black mark in my credit reference file.0

It is a disgrace that anybody can be signed up so easily. At least were safe while we are on this site...There is no need to run outside

Hiya, I had the same thing happen to me last week.
I called up the number in the new member email and fired off a long barrage of "What are you doning?!" to the advisor who said she deleted the account.
As I didn't believe her, I sent an email to "support" who emailed me back saying there was no account registered to me.
Mind you, I did also send them a copy of the email I sent to Watchdog.....
