Postman left my parcels next door!
Comments

I took a parcel once for a couple across the road, I had to go out later that day but took it over to them as soon as I got home which was 7pm ish. The cheeky mare had the nerve to moan at me that she had been waiting for it and I could have bought it sooner!!!
Ive been asked a couple of times to take in stuff for them, the answer is always a resounding NO!0 -
If you do not want the postman to leave parcels with neighbours then why not put a note to that effect on your door if you are expecting a parcel and you are going out?Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0

I often call at homes and see signs that say "Postman, not in leave parcel with xxxx". Open invitation.
I wouldn't leave it there permanently either, not worth attracting the attention.0 -

The signs I've seen are: "If no answer, please do not leave parcels with number xx" or something like that"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

I assume if I am getting a parcel on a specific day, I will be sure to be in or have the ability to make alternative arrangements with the sender and NOT the Postman.
If I was not available for a delivery that randomly turns up, I would expect nothing short of a nice note in my letterbox explaining I had an item that could not be delivered, so it is in the depot awaiting delivery or pick up.
When I send a parcel off, I pay for it to arrive at its destination, I would expect nothing less. The same applies when I receive a parcel. I shouldn't expect to place notes saying DON'T leave it with a neighbour, unless I specifically state to leave it with a Mr Smith at no.32 Beforehand, I wouldn't want it posting anywhere else but back to the depot.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Arrrghhh! It's quite simple. Royal mail is paid to deliver to the addressee, not anyone else! People may have good or bad relationships with neighbours, that's just the way it is. They might not know them from adam. The neighbours may be totally dishonest or thieving. As the postie isn't psychic as someone said, the most sensible thing for them to do is take the stuff back to the delivery office. They do not have the addressee's permission to leave their stuff anywhere else unless stated. Bit of a pain all round but there you go."All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Recently, the postman attempted to deliver a parcel when I was out, however it was too big for my letter box. The postman however decided ask next door to look after the package instead of taking back to the delivery centre. Is this allowed? I complained to the Post Office as the parcel could have contained anything, yet they gave it to a complete stranger!
Still waiting to hear back after a week after complaining. Btw, I did get the parcel from next door - but still angry.
