You can't always stay in until it comes
You can't always inform the company from whom you are ordering that you will not accept or pay for items delivered to an address other than your own
You can't always move to get better neighbours
You can't always go to shops and buy stuff from them
The poster has every right not to have items left at another address0 -
neighbour accused me of theft - when i took in a parcelforce delivery- thinking it was a favour as she was out - i was recovering from major surgery and could not carry a computer moniter next door - she said it would be too heavy for her but did not want to wait for her husband to get home!! luckily a nice nieghbour had arrived home ant moved the parcel from mine to hers - i have refused all further packages as she is never in!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

Postman tried to save you time and effort. I am sure next time they wont make the same mistake assuming its same post person.
Its better than what some couriers have been known to do dump the parcel at doorstep or chucked it over a fence only for you to find some weeks later soaking wet0 -

And the postie is supposed to know this how exactly??????
Everyone knows that one of the options available to postmen is to leave the parcel with a neighbour........this isnt anything knew and has been practice for a long time.
If the OP CHOOSES to be out - when he knows he is having a parcel delivered, then seriously - how difficult is it, to stick a notice to the door saying not to leave them with neighbours?
That way he saves himself the heartache, his neighbour and the postie the trouble of doing him a favour and he can forget posting threads about people who simply did their job.
Only my opinion, mind.Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

I run a business from home so I'm in most of the time. Over the last few weeks there have been several parcels turn up for the woman next door but one. I don't really know her that well and she's a pretty stuck up cow. The first one I taken in for her she never even said thankyou and stormed off like I was going to steal it, the second one I was about to take in and the parcel lady told me that the neighbour had complained about leaving it with us (she was in the first time but couldn't get her lazy backside out of bed) and then she seen her getting into her car for work so chased after her to give her the parcel.
The final one was today the royal mail post van came she wasn't in as per usual and asked me to take it in for her so I said yeah no problem but this will be the last time. Lo and behold she came storming round saying is my parcel here so I handed it to her and she stormed off without even a thankyou!!
So now she can shove her parcels where the sun don't shine the ignorant stuck up cow. Why would I want to nick a 60+ womans clothing for god sake im bloody 22!!
Simple answer is don't order anything if your not going to be in if you have a problem with your neighbours taking in parcels for you. Maybe you should be more greatful.0 -
when i worked for citylink we were told to do anything to avoid bringing parcels back to the depot.
the orders were
1 try proper delivery
2 get a neighbour to sign, a neighbour is anyone up to 10 houses away
3 leave parcel in safe place
4 leave parcel in dustbin0 -
