Postman left my parcels next door!

Ahh, that's another story.....
Maybe it's just me then - personally I like to know my parcels are we people I trust.
stick a note on or near your door saying that if your not in totake a letter parcel then please take it back to the sorting office... easyThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
A while ago a parcel got delivered to my elderly (not all there) neighbour. When I went to pick it up he went "nope no parcel here"
I was like "are you sure... it says it's here"
Then he said "Oh.. what's this.. is this yours?"
He'd forgotten all about it, but at least I got it and I'm glad it was left there than having to drive to a depot.0 -
This is quite sad really. In the past, everyone in a road would know each other and talk to each other and now nobody knows each other. Perhaps we should applaud the postmen for finding a way for us to talk to our neighbours!
This is very common in all the places I've lived, I've taken in parcels for my neighbours and they have done the same for me. Can't really see why it would be a problem, unless you have a running feud going with your neighbours. If you don't like it, put up a notice telling the postman not to leave parcels at the neighbours house."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

of course there may be some really sinister reason the OP doesn't want anyone else's grubby little mitts on his (assuming his might be her) precious packages....Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

i dont see the problem either
i do it for my neighbour and them for me.my local RM depot shuts at 12.30 weekdays and 9.30 on saturdays
no way i can make that
all the courier compaines have their depots on the other side of the city so the nearest is over 20 miles round trip
the furthest nearer 40
as ive said before you can never win
people complain if you leave a card,leave it 'safe',leave it with a neighbour0 -
I know all my neighbours and when they take a package for me, or I for them, it's just a good excuse to have a natter lolKavanne

I think the OP's point was that he prefers his packages to be left with people he can trust.....yet he foolishly believes his postman to be a psychic and should automatically know this, and which of the neighbours would come into that category.
In addition to that, the postie should just ensure that he uses his psychic abilities to only come round with the OP is home, therefore removing the need to leave the parcel with neighbours, or taking it back to the depot (and therefore inconveniencing said OP!) - and of course this in all in addition to the fact that the psychic postie would know in advance of course that the OP chose to have parcels delivered when he knew he wouldnt be home!!!
Oh yes, the postie is definitely to blame - you are suitably outraged. :rolleyes:Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

My neighbours are the neighbours from h3ll. If the postie gave any of my stuff to them I'd be livid. The postie doesn't know the relationship between neighbours so IMO shouln't do this by default.Pants0

and heres the problem
you get complaints every way
i dont leave with neighbours on my delivery as its mainly vermin but in nicer areas its common practice
if you dont get on with your neighbours then surely they would refuse?0
