No news here *sigh* Have got 3 colleagues who are also selling and they've had nothing either, although 2 are only just on the market. One girl was stressing because her EA put the house on RM (she hadn't even looked as wasn't expecting it yet, I found it when I was having a cheeky look) before she'd read the details or had a pic of the front done. I think we should swap EAs as she isn't quite ready to move yet and mine seem to be really slow!:rotfl:2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Ah of courseAt least the immediate problem of possible homelessness has been addressed and you can keep on with the selling lark

That sounds more like an EAs BS because they either cannot be bothered or don't know how to do a floorplan pdf or otherwise!
Lol, I know. It took me an hour and a half to make and that was only because the website I was using kept crashing and I had to start again! If anyone else if planning on doing their own floorplan I recommend using a mouse rather than a trackpad - I have serious finger ache now!0 -

Yes that's the huge relief....We'll be renting it out instead of selling once we've moved. Can't compete with 4 other people in 200 yards...It feels like admitting defeat but it's a practical solution to it...only so long you can go on paying mortgage and rent and bills for somewhere you're no longer living. The line in the sand has to be drawn...0 -
We've had a viewing!
Not that I think anything will come of it. They whipped around the place in about two minutes (well worth the two hours tidying and cleaning) and asked some strange questions, e.g. after I'd shown them the three bedrooms asked how many bedrooms there were.
Still, it's a viewing...eh?0 -
We were supposed to exchange on Friday.
Guess what? We did not. AAGGGHHHH!
Even after all the stress of finding a buyer the s**t continues. I even got a fairly stroppy e-mail from my solicitor after I had chased her up about it. She seems to think that she is doing well by moving at the pace of a snail and I should not complain. And I am paying her about 2k for this!0 -
Well on 9th July we did finally move house, we only exchange contracts 3pm the day before so it was very stressful, but we did it so there's hope!0

Up here in Surrey, after nine weeks of sols faffing about on our house sale, we were told Friday too, for exchange. Completely out of the blue, following no communication at all.
And then “it’ll be Monday”, (umm No) and then “it’ll be Tuesday”, (umm No). So here we are Wednesday, terrified that once again we might lose our rental property.
It’s interesting when you find out what’s REALLY happening in the chain. Mr Big, who is moaning like crazy about ‘running late’ is actually the primary cause of the delays with two different problems. It turns out subsequently that the FTBers at the bottom of the chain weren’t ready, with money in a 30 day account, plus their contract not even signed!
If the FTBers had the news come out of the blue like us, maybe they have an excuse. The middle two in the chain have played their cards very close to their chests all along, but now are the ones complaining!
If you’re in a chain with things going on, please keep people informed. That’s much better than keeping quiet. Our eventual assumption (around the seven week point) was that it may never be happening.0 -
Hi, newbie here - been reading this wonderful thread for months now as we have been doing up our flat to sell and today we have 3 EA's coming in to value it - I'm so excited however, it is tinged with trepidation because the flat is still not finished as we are having new carpets being laid in a couple of weeks and still have the kitchen to do up, so the flat wont be able to go on the market for a while yet.
It's hard to explain the reason why we are getting them in before the flat is finished but we are after their advice as we think we are over decorating (OH a perfectionst) and so hopefully they can look at our to do list and see if we can remove anything that does not need to be done.(i.e. do we really need to replace tiles in kitchen and is that new lampshade really going to help the sale etc lol).
We have also been really naughty and have a 2nd viewing on 2 houses tomorrow that we really like (however, we could afford to buy one of them without waiting to sell my flat so I'm not a tyre kicker, honest).
Thank you all who post.0
