…Had a call from my EA this morning, my buyers want to exchange by end of next week
the house i'm buying is empty so is all ok from their perspective. Just waiting for some searches back I think. My solicitor is soooo s_____l_____o_____w. snails pace in reverse!
oh, and Hi and welcome to the newbies.
This is still a very common complaint about solicitors. You’d think that conveyancing solicitors would not really be THAT busy currently wouldn’t you? Maybe they go down the wine bar at lunchtime and snooze the afternoon away?

    Hi
Looks like the milder weather and sunshine is bringing the buyers out?
not_loaded - how is your sale going?
Well, continuing the story from my earlier longwinded post on page 115, post #2285:

Mr Very Guarded and Mrs Very Pleasant. Feedback: “not interested”. (they had earlier made an offer on another property, but apparently it ‘wasn't actually the property they really wanted’. Very odd  ) Pretty much as we expected – hard to see what they would have got out of buying ours, moving only a mile down the road, with very little price difference in it.

    Mrs Normal Human Being:
The only good thing about viewer number two is that she may well be proceedable shortly. She has a character house, of which there are few on the market round here, and it doesn't seem too badly priced. However, we're not holding our breath on that one!
Quoting myself here! To be honest we are now quite keen on this offer. It turns out from further conversations that no finance (ie: no lender) will be involved to mess things up, which is a big plus nowadays judging by the frequent posts on here complaining about lenders wrecking sales.

She’s only been on the market a week, so unfortunately still not proceedable, but we are keeping in touch! :)

WOOOHOOOOO we have our first viewing booked for Thursday :j

Sorry to be so excitable but from putting our house on the market last August and not getting a single viewing (took if off in January, went back on last Saturday with a different EA) we were beginning to think we would never sell!

The viewer is a FTB, so fingers crossed he turns up and likes our house.

A quick question for those that have dogs, do you take them out when someone comes to look at your house?

    Congrats on the booking!

There are people who don’t like dogs, especially large dogs, so it might be an idea to have them out of the house. To be a bit impolite - no problem with umm a doggie smell is there?

Lol no, everyone that comes to our house says they wouldn't know we had dogs.

They are biggish dogs, 2 Labradors, but we don't think there will be anyone around to take them out when he views. They will be in their crate so there won't be an issue with them running riot or jumping up, but DH thinks they should be out of the way

This one does sound better N_L, I'm sure she'll be proceedable soon. the other one sounded too dizzy anyway (I had one of those back end of 09) and might have ended up withdrawing and wasting your time.

My solr's assistant rang me back this PM, seemingly everyone in the chain has been ringing her today. well I say everyone in the chain, there is just my buyers, me and the empty houe I'm buying. thank goddess for that as I hate long chains.

Anyway I digress, the assistant said that they were waiting for some paperwork and sounded a bit narked that everyone thought it was them holding things up. She said that they could go as fast or as slowly as I wanted. !!!!!! does that mean? why would I not want things to go full steam ahead

This P/W is being DX'd over (anyone know what the DX system is?) tonight and then we are looking at an exchange by the end of next week. TFFT

    A Freudian slip there!

Going ‘as fast or as slowly as wanted’ sounds like a thinly veiled threat really. Maybe some customers ask for Really Slow Service please!

I notice a significant increase in the F factor in your posts. Time to open a bottle of wine! :)

DX is the solicitors' delivery system between practices. A sort of solicitors only courier. They have centres in most big cities.

(have to admit I did a double take for a second, as dx is also shorthand for diagnosis in medicine! Then memory kicked in. ;) )
