Not a happy bunny today........it's beautiful out there and we haven't a single viewing booked in for this weekend.

I'm feeling a bit taken in by our EA as he said he had numerous cash buyers on his database who wanted to buy in our village, how naive I am!!!!

Knowing roughly where you are, I'd say that it's highly likely that there are cash buyers looking in your area, particularly for retirement, but that doesn't mean they are necessarily looking in your price band, or for your house type. Weasel words!

On the positive side, you're in one of the nicest areas of the country, so while you wait you can at least get out and enjoy the scenery. Last year was a real pain for us on the selling front, but DW and I did more walking and exploring than we'd done in the previous five years. It was actually very refreshing to say: 'Right, that's it, we're not doing any more to this place,' and to knock the DIY on the head!

Ah, but isn't there a little football match, or something, going on?;)

I'd never offer on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe just me, but I'd want the channels of communication open, so Monday morning would be early enough.

Thanks Dave, we meet on another thread.

I'm just being impatient, most of the prospective viewers are based in the south east, so they have to travel. We've been on the EA website for 5 weeks and our brochure was mailed out to the database of clients 4 weeks ago, I would have hoped for more than 7 viewings so far.

Fingers crossed the weather remains good for the weeks to come and all those viewers come out of the woodwork for all of us
  • Hmmmmmm well... our flat has been on for two weeks

not one viewing we've even been on holiday and our estate agents never knew a thing! We've already had the offer accepted on the house of our dreams, so we are going to be tightening our belts with the two mortgages

Then today a man knocked on the on door and asked me how much i was selling the flat!! If i didn't have shoes and holiday washing all over the place i would have invited him in!!

That'll teach me to do tidy washing :rotfl:

You turned down a viewing shell! Never do that! It doesnt matter if the place is a mess!

So hope we all had a good weekend. Anyone got any news?

I have moved some rooms around, On Saturday the new Agent will be coming round to do the floorplans etc. Third agent Lucky?

    Hi Goober,
Thanks for joining in, did it take long to sell?

We put it on the market at the end of Feb and got the offer at the end of March, then 2 months to completion. Probably could have gone quicker, but not too bad really.

Buyers from the south-east are very common in West Wales too, where they have the advantage of lower prices, but in Deb'n they speak the right lingo (well sort-of!);)

If sales have picked-up in Commuterland, then some will soon translate into purchases in the Westcountry from those leaving the rat race. Certainly, my Rightmove saved properties show a lot going under offer, and although that's stuff with land, not everyone wants a field as well as a house!
