Phew, that's a relief. Thanks for clarifying that.
Well the good news is that our offer was accepted. So now our situation is that we have an offer on our house (but the buyer hasn't sold his house yet), and we have an offer on the house we want (but the seller hasn't found a house to go to). What now?
you could always ask if your seller wants to purchase the house of your buyer?!?Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Heh heh, we did actually and the EA tried it. The vendor is looking for an older property
.
I'm not sure what happens next with all this though. I don't know if we're supposed to be doing something like instructing solicitors, or just waiting until the whole chain is in place.0 -
Hi Everyone, Well my viewers put in an offer for 5k less than the asking price
which is still cheap considering what I've done to the house but I've accepted, they've been financially qualified and the sold board should go up Friday :T. A long way to go but getting there. Now I need to instruct my solicitor tomorrow and chase everything through.

congrats skintlass, hope it all goes smoothly from here.. :T
still no viewers for me.. called into AE's today as was passing, he reckons is on at right price, but the usual.. problems for 1st time buyers getting finance etc etc.. asked would more photos on the wesite help as the person who came only took the lounge, dining room and my bedroom (plus gardens) - bathroom and other bedrooms are perfectly presentable, the kitchen is dated, but is clean and you would be able to live with it easily - IMO
said i'd take photos and email them to him.. can use them or come out themselves to take them0 -
Are other properties in your area selling? I waited to put my house back on the market until I started seeing sold signs in the area.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

congratulations skintlass!!
mich - good luck with the photos, i'm sure you can do a better job than the EA and show off the right features ect. i'd say you're right to show a kitchen even if it is dated because at least potential buyers know it's not a wreck or that you've got something to hide.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Have they been on the market long? Have they had offers? Are they realistically priced?
Early on we had a very good offer, and with us with no onward chain that sounded very promising. Unfortunately they weren’t even on the market. They took three weeks to get on the market and then heavily overpriced their rather undesirable house. Overall, that got us absolutely nowhere of course.
You’ve offered on a house as well, and they’re in the same position you are, namely an unproceedable offer. I presume they’re staying on the market and continuing to allow viewings?I'm not sure what happens next with all this though. I don't know if we're supposed to be doing something like instructing solicitors, or just waiting until the whole chain is in place.
Sorry not to be more positive…0 -
Haven't been on for a while but we accepted an offer on my flat in the first week of August and its still dragging on! They now want us to pay a policy for the flat and i said i would only if the complete by the 23rd. if they don't they pay half and if i have to pay another mortgage payment on the flat they can pay the whole bloody lot!! I'm bored now of selling the flat. I just want it over and done with!0
