I know you are trying to be supportive, but you really don't know that. I've put offers on two properties which have been rejected, I haven't (and don't intend to) put another offer in.
The first one was a couple who had been trying to sell for 8 months, they'd turned a higher offer down 2 months before expecting them to make a better offer (didn't happen). Talking to the estate agent afterwards (looking at another property with them) he pretty much admitted they expected us to put a better offer in.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -
It would appear that everyone expects you to make a silly offer, then a real one. However if you actually do what you're supposed to, you'd not mess about and put in a real offer to start. People expect you to play 'the game', even if it seems pointless to you.0

i like the home tv shows like 'location location' and but i do think their love of drama has added to the idea that you should place a low offer first to see what you could get away with.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

That’s very important if it is, as they know exactly where they stand then. Once turned down, they’d lose face if they backed down.
They (and you) need to know where the game begins and ends.0 -
