Thanks not-loaded. Im afraid my house is as good as its going to get. Hubby is living 250 miles away with no1 son, and Im here on my own with 5 kids and a dog! When I say Im on my own - I mean that literally. We have been here just two years and I have no family or friends around here, so I do what I can! Hubby only gets up to visit every 6 weeks or so,and he doesnt get much done when he is here except give me more work to do with the extra washing lol! The new EA we just went on with was quite good and pointed a few things out that I've sorted, but no matter how much I try there are always grubby fingerprints to be found!0

My house has been on for 9 weeks and after the initial flurry of viewings we have not had anyone for 3-4 weeks now. Feels very deflating.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

We exchanged today at long last. I guess it has all been relatively painless as we sold privately so haven't had to endure the pain that most on here have had to endure. I wish I was jumping up and down but I've been through the mill in the last 24 hours as my brother is seriously ill. We complete on the 13th and I'm glad we opted for part pack as I don't feel at all motivated to do anything myself.
I hope everything works out well kathyb0 -

Hi Shirlgirl, sorry to hear your brother is ill - sending positive vibes your way.
Congrats on exchanging, and good luck with the move.

I have my fingers crossed for you skintlass. Sometimes it's the viewings which seems to go brilliantly where they don't put in an offer yet the quiet ones somtimes do.
I've had some 2nd viewers here this morning. Mrs looked during the week and wanted Mr to see today. they are negotiating a deal on their own house and once an acceptable offer is on the table, will be offering on mine. Also someone else with an offer on her house but her buyers haven't a buyer for theirs - is still very much in the running. then there's the couple I met at a neighbour's funeral who want it pending their own sale.
So, everything's happening yet nothing isfor now.
I've widened my own search. Currently live 40 mins drive from work (and have done for 12 years). I had been looking to downsize and stay round here. I've started looking nearer work where properties are slightly cheaper. I could get the same size house in xxxxtown for £60k cheaper. I would save £50 a week on petrol plus wear and tear on the car of course. AAAAANd there is a company bus (free) to get to and from work AAAAANd if you don't take your car to the office they pay you £80 a month green allowance.
Tempting, and yet I love it here, it's right up near the top of the Kirsty and Phil best places to live towns (it a city really but everyone refers to it as a town)
If I were being very MSE I ought to move nearer work
shall I?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I'm selling to move nearer work, my current commute is 45 mins with no traffic (that doesn't happen very often ) and more realistically is between 1hr and 1hr 15 mins which I hate.
I've put the house on for 15k below what the EA said was top price as I want to move. Went to sign details today for pictures going on the web and found out my next door neighbor had phoned in expressing an interest (sneaky so and so wanted to know the price and didn't want to ask me).
The viewing today was a FTB with her parents and the father obviously wanted to extend (which isn't possible due to share access driveway), also he would have to remortgage his property for her to afford mine as she can't raise that much cash by herself so I don't think its going any further.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0
