Thanks Helnag! It feels very strange just received the paperwork. I have a slight problem with the title though, but my colleague has also changed hers so it shouldn't be a problem. Apparently the CEO isn't interested in titles!

My other tiny concerns are that I have to buy new clothes & shoes. I know that that sounds ridiculous but my clothes are looking really old and worn out now and my shoes are knackered. I also need to look the part and I want to start as I mean to go, so I'm going to spend £200-300 on a new wardrobe. But I'm so scared that I won't be able to stop once I've started. :o We have about £50 in Mr T vouchers that LB is happy for me use on clothes, so if I can work out how to double them up I will & that will £100 that I haven't really 'spent'. My friend works in a well known shoe shop & gets to give someone her discount & bless her she has given it to me! So I get 60% off a pair three times a year and 20% off all the rest! So I think I will be getting some shoes from there! Although they are a little expensive to start with they are good shoes though!
My other worry is that I will loose the values that I have now. My colleague is lovely & wonderful & brilliant & excellent to learn from but she used to work in London & is used to a high level of income & her other half earns more than I couldn't imagine! When I mentioned to her that eventually I want to pay my mortgage off & she was like why?? I am picking excellent skills up of her but I'm worried that I will pick up things that I don't really want!

Oh look at me go on about nothing!! Honestly I find disaster everywhere!

Thanks Dinah! It does seem a bit too good to be true to be honest! I'm having a slight issue with the title they have offered but have suggested another - not really the biggest problem in the world is it! :o

I did have a long day for tomorrow but the same bloke that always cancels my shifts has surprise surprise canceled it! Still have a long day on Sunday which is good. I think I'm mentally detaching from there already! I've spoken to my NVQ Assessor and said that I only have 3 weeks to finish it in and she said that should be OK. That I have done enough work, just need to do some direct observations with her.

LB has been so wonderful & supportive even when I know that it is hard for him because he works so hard & is more skilled than anyone else he works with, other than his boss perhaps, and doesn't feel that he gets any recognition. I'm hoping that if I work hard I'll be able to support him to start his own business which I know he would love to do ...

I've done nothing today!! Can't say I feel that guilty, feel like I've been working non stop - this is my first day off in 14 days so I guess I deserve to sit on my bum! Oh & I have been exercising these last couple of weeks - although I should have done it again today but maybe tomorrow!

Once I start the new job I will need to sit down & work out what I can save - I like to know when I will be able to pay LB back. Bit ensure about how much I will actually take home as I may be getting either a company car or a car allowance. Going to view the facility on Wednesday - might be going by helicopter! :D

  • Oooooohhhhh raini - exciting times! Congratulations on the new job - that's amazing news!! And good luck for the interview (or the result of...) - I'm sure you'll have blown them away!!

I didn't think they were actually allowed to ask your age at interviews any more? Far less make an issue of it? Descrimination and all that......

Sorry I haven't been around, I've been on my holi-bags - trying hard to get my head back into a "home" frame of mind!

    xx

    Thanks guys!

More good news ... they have accepted me onto the course!! :T:T:T

I'm sooooo pleased! So I will start the Diploma on September 16th! :D The bad news is that I think I will have to pay for it now - it's £2150! LB has decided that we aren't going to America now, and we are seeing the flakey couple tonight! I've told LB he can tell them!! (I'm such a coward!)

Now I don't want you all to think that I'm very negative but I just can't help thinking that I'm going to get some hugely bad news ... no-one can have this much good luck! It reminds me of those Pain v Pleasure adverts from years ago! I know that the £2150 is bad news but I kinda had it in mind that I would have to pay for it ...

Slight change of plan re work ... colleague is off until Thursday & I'm NOT handing my notice in until she does ... just in case!!

    *Paranoid* much!!

Also, another musing of the day is ... I would like to run a business from home but what to do??? I'm thinking some kind of shop online, ebay perhaps, but what would I sell??? That's the million dollar question!

Any thoughts or ideas more than welcome ... :D
