    and 2 more useful linkies:

this one about a midwife led unit who are supporting women to have a waterbirth after ceasarian-
interesting and looks like it is usually a great success!

    and this was on: http://www.thegoodbirth.co.uk/obstacles_to_a_waterbirth#caesarean

    "Waterbirth and Caesarean Section

Almost all women who have had a previous caesarean will be told that they cannot use a water pool, cannot birth in water or even use a pool for pain relief, must have a needle for a drip inserted at the start of labour, must birth within certain time limits and must have continuous electronic foetal monitoring throughout labour. The evidence for all of this is very slender. It presupposes a high risk for uterine rupture and yet the actual figures for uterine rupture in a woman who has had a previous caesarean (or two, or three or more) are very low indeed. AIMS’ Birth After Caesarean is one of the only books on the market if you are thinking of what is often referred to as VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean). More and more women, faced with rigid rules which seem unlikely to help them to labour normally, are negotiating the use of a birth pool with their maternity unit or opting for a home birth and using a pool there. There are a number of support groups available online like the UKVBACHBAC group. Another good resource is Caesarean.org, and the NCT have Caesarean and VBAC support co-ordinators who are happy to talk to individual mothers about their choices and feelings."

also found this, the enkin study could be used as a persuader that the risk of a rupture is minute and if they forbade a waterbirth because of it, wouldn't they logically have to prevent all of them?!

'To put it into perspective; the likelihood of needing an emergency caesarean for any woman giving birth is 30 times higher than a woman having a VBAC experiencing a uterine rupture (Enkin 2000). This does not mean that we dismiss this risk; as experienced care-givers, we will be watching for signs throughout a woman’s pregnancy and labour and appropriate action will be taken if required.'

Lu-T good luck with your plan but be prepared for a fight it sounds like we had similar first births ( Emergency section for failure to progress/ long back to back labour) and I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be able to have a water birth, so doing some research and having 'a case' to present sounds like a great idea.

Elle, so please to hear your news, looking forward to hearing that Rhys is coming home.

In other news Eloise only woke up once last night which is definitely progress, my mum friends have deserted me this morning and I can't decide whether to take her swimming if I am on my own (I don't mind taking her on my own but not as much fun without friends).

Oh and does anyone have any great ideas for how to make millie a pair of butterfly antenna from something recycled which I have in my house today? Its 'greenday' at school tomorrow and she has to go as a mini beast made from recycled materials, I have made the wings but lost inspiration for the antenna, I thought my neighbours kids would have some deelyboppers I could borrow but it seems not!

Lu T I have the swing and paid £30 for it - but on ebay :) the seat comes off so you can wash it and the rest is wipe down so you can easily clean it if you buy second hand :)
Roo seems to love hers - unless she's having a totally grouchy moment... :)

MM - I have some home made antanea :D
Mine are an old head band with pipe cleaners, but you could use a wire coat hanger or cereal box/ plastic milk bottle cut up as they should be stiff enough to stand up

hello everyone - Elle, great news about Rhys :D

had HV round - for some reason I was dreading it - but she kept saying how well we were doing. She brought up weaning, only to say that she would be back when LO was 6 1/2 months old to discuss when we'd like to start weaning and to tell me about baby-led weaning. I said that I thought that 6 1/2 months wsa leaving it a bit late to only start discussions and that in fact I had been reading up on the subject, but she just kept saying that babies have to be at least 6 months before even considering weaning - so I shut up and decided that as I am well-read on the subject, LO and I would make our own way in the world of food!

off to vote this afternoon, thought the church we have to vote in is down a huge hill - not so nice for theh journey home!!!

    Sami - love the costume!

We're just back from our adventure into town - have sung songs at the library, bought half the card shop (4 faters day cards, 2 birthday cards + wrapping paper. And that's on top of all the birthday cards i got last week and the ones I need to get in a few weeks time. June is an expensive month!), dine all our other town chores and had a picnic in the park with another Mummy and baby.

Now for an exciting afternoon of washing up and sorting the washing out. I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I'll get anything more than that finished ;)

OH woke up twice panicking because she thought she'd been feeding him and he had vanished from her side when she dozed off! So even if he doesn't really need night feeds any more we'll still be dreaming them for a while it seems...

I had this problem alot after she started sleeping through the night;)

My God Weezl you've been a busy bee

We went to the soft play with my sis and her 2 kids (school shut for voting station) today, so El is now in bed having a nap as she is knackered. I think I should have a nap to, I'm shattered chasing after her. She now likes to play in the section for the big boys and girls so i a have to go with her as there are steep stairs but she is doing the MEGA fast bumpy chute on her own, what a brave/stupid child!!! It's mummy that looks stupid going down the chute on her own as it's the quickest and easiest way to get to her at the bottom of the chute lol, it's even worse when mummy comes down screaming:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
