Having such bad thoughts today, wish someone could take the baby away for a little bit so I could do something to control how I'm feeling.
Feelie, I think everyone probably feels that way at some point; I know I do anyway. On really bad days (usually when Tom has fallen off something or bumped his head on something) I have been known to say to OH that someone should take him and maybe they would look after him better than I can. Being a Mam is the hardest job in the world and leaves you with the guiltiest feelings in the world. I find it difficult and I have a strong marriage, two older children who help out and a lot of professional training to do with working with children. And I still don't get it right!
You are doing amazingly well, seriously! Way better than I could do! And coping with the stuff with your OH and having to find a new home and expressing your breastmilk and everything, honestly you're practically a Superwoman and no wonder you're finding things a strain! Who wouldn't?
I think you need to take some time and not rush into any decisions that you may regret. Your GP may be able to refer you for counselling so that you can talk through your feelings. I would also repeat what someone else said about contacting Homestart as you may be able to get someone to come and help look after the baby, talk to you, provide company and maybe let you get some time to yourself for a relaxing bath or whatever. Whoever you get will be completely non-judgemental and there to help.
I also think you need to talk to your Mum. Do you absolutely have to go it alone or could you staywith her for longer?
As to "completely forgetting he existed" - do you think you could really do that? I think it unlikely! And without causing offence, I don't think you're in a fit state to make that decision just at the moment.
Also, remember with babies, everything is a stage. What seems to be lasting so long at the moment will seem like the blink of an eye when you look back.
Big, somewhat dodgy hugs :grouphug: and I'm happy to listen if you need to talk anytime. Just pm me. Take care!0 -

My DD was like this. She walked at nine months and was still tiny. We couldn't get any shoes to fit as she was so small! She's ten now though and is more or less an average size.0 -
Thanks guys for all the support. Had a chat with Mum, and sent an email to the Health Visitor. Decided to start off just giving one bottle of formula a day, and limiting myself to expressing 5 times a day. I'm averaging 10 times at the moment, so it'll be a big drop, and hopefully help how I'm feeling. OH is going to give the first formula feed tomorrow so I don't have to feel so bad about it. I'm off to bed now, I'm exhausted.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Feelie - it sounds like introducing a few bottles is going to help you feel slightly less overwhelmed with everything. I hope you will feel a bit more positive in the morning - a bit of sleep can make the world of difference.
Whereabouts in the country are you? I should remember, but I get muddled up with who is where.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

feelie i just had a thought not sure if it will help?
my OH cousin had really bad PND and was in a mother and baby unit until her medication etc was sorted out, they also gave her support and built her confidence up. might be something worth looking into then your meds would have time to kick in while there was a good help and support network around xWhat's for you won't go past you0 -

oh and MFD, not in a nagging way, but you always struck me as an organised gal on the preg thread, so if you did make a packing list for your west wales trip, I'd be grateful for a gander, we're off on hols in a few weeks and packing floors me at the best of times!
Feelie - I can't really think what to say other than I think you are doing the right thing introducing some formula feeds and I really want to come and slap Toby's dad!!
Have you talked everything through with your mum? would she be happy to look after Toby for a weekend so you could have some time on your own or with OH if you want to try to sort things out?
I'm sure if you were away from Toby for a day you would see that you are a fab mummy and would miss him lots!
I know I love having time when I'm just Sam but I always have a little pang of missing Chris and almost cry when I see him again!:o0 -
Morning all.
I been up since 5am, I thought it was 7!
Ryan had his 6-8 week check yesterday and is doing great, the doctor remarked on how contented and calm he is (dont get that of me or OH!)
He weighs 12lb 14oz and is 58.5cm, so above 'average' in weight and height.
He is just about fiting into his 0-3 months babygrows lengthwise, so will probably need to invest in some 3-6 month ones in the next couple of weeks.
We had a couple of bad nights, wednesday he fed only 1oz at 10pm, then woke at 1am, took 2oz then woke at 4am and had 3oz!
But last night i think he only woke once (OH's turn)
It's Astons 5th Brithday next Sunday, I wanted to get him a bike but they so expensive, but I picked out one from halfords, think it was like £80, then was having a gander on ebay and saw the exact same one for local pick up, ended up baggin it for £28 :j
OH had a go coz he said it might be a right state, he went to pick it up last night and he said it's practically brand new, he reckons it looks like it has been used once or twice - bargain!
So now got to sort out his Ben 10 party for next Sat, and sort out something to wear to my neices christening next Sun!
Took Ryan into work yesterday to show him off, oh the old grannies loved him, well everyone did!
I'm going back on Sunday, I'm allowed to do 10 days work whilst on MA, so am going to do them this month, need some cash for the school holidays, think we going to Scotland for a week or 2 when DS1 breaks up from school :j
I dont know what else to get DS1 for his birthday, do you think a bike, some books and a pair of trainers is ok? we are not exactly flush at the mo and I got to organise this party and keep money by for the christening too.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0
