    Morning all..

Think I best go round to the neighbours and explain why Rhys was screaming as if we were murdering him at 2am today! :o (was putting the tube back in)

In brighter news, he took all of his 2am bottle too but it took over half an hour so OH tube fed him at 5am instead. OH stayed up again last night - he volunteered to do the night feeds again. I thought it was suss until I worked out he's involved in some game online and there's a "battle" on  Ah well, if he can fit in baby feeds too, good for me! :D

No PJ day for me today - suite cleaners are coming at 9am. Means we can't sit on the sofas all day so we're going to work on sorting our room and the spare room. Will be nice to get them sorted and find a few more of the things I've been buying for Rhys.. first thing I'm looking for is the sling!

Hope everyone has a good day :) xx

You lot were all very talkative last night. I can't catch up on all 5 pages, but ~hugs~ to AM. I suppose everyone has already asked all this, but no chance of relate or anything?

Have just noticed there is a wasp flying round the room, so will have to go pop baby in her cot when she's finished eating, then see if I can escort him back outside - don't want to leave her playing on the floor ewith a wasp buzzing about

What else was I going to say? Oh yes, got my first ipsos survey to fill out (and one for DH to fill out too ... don't know if he will or not. Maybe I will pretend to be him if he can't be bothered ;) ).

Oh and I've made a list of all the things Izzy has eaten, mainly because I keep forgetting what she has tried. I don't know if i should pot it here, as it is really long, but if anyone is interested I'm happy to share (in case anyone else is after weaning ideas really.)

At the hospital, we were told for prem babies they should have 150ml per kg per day, but Rhys has always been on 165ml per kg per day due to poor weight gain at the beginning. So that's 165x2.3=379.5/8=47.4ml per feed, so 45ml plus some meds with 3hrly each feed :)

That said, there was talk of switching him back to 150ml and to 4hrly, so working on his weight yesterday of 2.41kg, that's 150x2.41=361.5/6=60.25ml.

It takes about three days to up his feeds by 5ml (got to give his tummy tme to get used to a bigger amount - even 1ml can make the difference between sick or not) so I think we're a long way off 4hrly feeds yet :o

ETA: There is a limit as to how much you can put down the tube at any one time too as it goes directly into his tummy so he needs to be consistently on bottles too. About to give it another bash... 11pm feed coming up - wish me luck! ;)

Are there different rules for early babies? How up-to-date is their training? Did they say to just keep increasing the about of EBM, with no limit? Just wondering - my HV gave me a formula to work out how much to feed Toby, but reading online it seems to suggest that this is quite out-dated and babies fed EBM aren't supposed to increase the amount. I imagine once your LO gets to that level, you are to stop increasing it? Just wondering how it works.

Aww 3 does it usually have adverse affects with you?

Ribena is the work of the devil!! My silly Mum lets Chris have it even though I've repeatedly told her I don't want him to have it and then pointed out to her it says on the bottle "Not suitable for Children under 3years"!!!! She also lets him have 'just a little bit' of Dr Pepper  This from the woman who didn't allow me to have fizzy pop (excluding our anual trip to maccy d's) until I was about 10

not sure about garlic but I love the stuff :D

I've not had any odd effects from KFC.

However, if I have too much garlic and feed Violet she doesn't seem to like the taste and fights with the boobie, before puking anything she drank! A little bit of garlic seems to be ok, but after a very garlicy italian, with garlic bread - she wasn't happy!

I had an Ipsos for OH to fill out - so i answered for him. :D

I'd be interested in the list - butternut squash, carrot and sweet potato are all popular, on their own or combined. Cheesy spinach (she shared a jar yesterday with my friends little girl) wasn't popular so we ended up wearing most of it.
I was going to ask - if you stew apple or pear, does it freeze ok?

Did you follow the link for bizzie babies? I got the food diary to test for them - might be handy for you to keep a list of what Izzy has tried.

  • No I missed out on Bizzie babies - can I have the link please?! I will pm you the food list!

Had another photo shoot yesterday, as my parents are going up to visit my Granny in hospital again tomorrow. She won't let me take Izzy to visit her in hospital, so I'm sending her a card from Izzy with a load of photos each time :)

She was rolling round all over the place, so I took about 30 pictures, and half of them were all blurry or ended up being of the top of her head, thanks to the digital camera taking the picture a second or two after I press the button. But at least with digital it doesn't matter if you take loads and pick the best ones :0)

Great photos, and I think that is the quickest friends request acceptance ever!

Digital cameras are great aren't they. My says she feels sad that she hasn't got more baby pictures, but it was so expensive then.

I've taken more than 5000 of Toby :o
