thats ridiculous that your getting into trouble what about the parents that get their kids have tea and its bed time? just out of interest is luca the younger one?
What's for you won't go past you
  • With expressed milk, they should take no more than about 120ml at a time, and you should pace bottle feeds so they take the same as a breastfeed would take. It is possible to overfeed on EBM. Normal daily amount is about 19-30 oz. I think the idea is to make it as close to real breastfeeding as possible.

Is that true? Benjamin has 6 oz bottles all the time because that is what I have expressed...doesn't seem to fill him up either :rotfl: he will easily take to the boob within 30 mins of a bottle!

My little boy is not himself tonight...he has been below par since about 2pm when he woke up from his nap. Lots of 'woe is me' crying and moaning...he just laid on the sofa watching his dad read the paper whilst I made dinner.

When I put him into his cot he was talking really loudly which is unusual, I realised I had forgotten to put him in his sleeping bag and so I went up to put it on him...as soon as I did he grabbed his elephant and closed his eyes - bless :A

Luca is the older one 8yrs old
I know it's silly...on the days when I work we don't get home till about 6.30 and then there is food to be made/eaten and sorting out for the next day, then the whole bed-time saga begins!!!

Mel, do you get stuck for what to write on the boys Reading log? Aimee gets 1 book a week and I used to try and write a bit... Now it's just 'Aimee read this well' can't think of anything else!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Haha yep! I have taken to just writing, read well/read very well/read extremely well.....depending on how they have done. A bit monotonous really, but I did used to try and elaborate, I just got fed up of trying to say the same thing in 20 different ways!!

oh yeah and as mm says.......struggled with - then put whichever words they couldn't read.

Caz, I received my Asda order this morning! :j. 10 x 4 packs of Pampers wipes but they substituted the sensitive for normal (even though I asked for no subs, I'm obviously not complaining!).

Only problem is when I log in and check my order it now shows the 'real' price!. Hope they are not going to charge me the excess or they can have them back :rotfl:.

    xx
The price you get charged is the one on the print out not on the website :D

That's not too bad then...I think our school is a bit heavy on the homework, they are expected to read every night, which I have to log in their reading record book. They get a piece of literacy and a piece of maths homework every week, sometimes also a piece of science homework too...and they have to learn spellings ready for a test every monday!!!!

I really struggle getting them to complete it all, we also have to seperate Jaden when he is doing his as Luca tells him all the answers plus he really needs the one to one or he can't do it.

They hate having to read every night, I often get into trouble at parents evening because they have missed (quite a few) nights out.....Hahahahahaha edit to say - they missed nights reading, not nights out!!!

not to sound like one of the teachers but it is very important that children read every day (although IMHO it doesn't need to be restricted the book they give, my mum used to make us read all sorts like the cooking instructions/ingredients for whatever she was making for tea)
When I was at primary we only had reading and spellings, never other homework until last 2yrs. It sounds a bit much if they are having to do homework on a school night - mind you my mum also used to do my homework for me :shhh:
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

DSS is a bit older than Aimee but hubby tries to comment on how much DSS enjoyed the book, any areas he struggled on (particular words or phrasing) and any areas that DSS has done well (expressing voices etc)

Normal daily amount is about 19-30 oz. I think the idea is to make it as close to real breastfeeding as possible.

At the hospital, we were told for prem babies they should have 150ml per kg per day, but Rhys has always been on 165ml per kg per day due to poor weight gain at the beginning. So that's 165x2.3=379.5/8=47.4ml per feed, so 45ml plus some meds with 3hrly each feed :)

That said, there was talk of switching him back to 150ml and to 4hrly, so working on his weight yesterday of 2.41kg, that's 150x2.41=361.5/6=60.25ml.

It takes about three days to up his feeds by 5ml (got to give his tummy tme to get used to a bigger amount - even 1ml can make the difference between sick or not) so I think we're a long way off 4hrly feeds yet :o

ETA: There is a limit as to how much you can put down the tube at any one time too as it goes directly into his tummy so he needs to be consistently on bottles too. About to give it another bash... 11pm feed coming up - wish me luck! ;)

Our primary school sends out the same amount of homework. In the juniors, they also get a project per term, where they have about 6-8 weeks at home to research a project and then produce about 6 pages on it. James just did one on Victorians and he picked Victorian Inventions, but he could have done it on any aspet of Victorians.

Joshua managed the projects fine and would pace himself doing a page or so a week. James is terrible for leaving it till the last minute and then cutting and pasting off Wikipedia, then being surprised when I notice he didn't write it himself
Here I go again on my own....
