ladybird, it's always worrying when you can't find the energy to get chocolate - that's how I know I'm sleep deprived!

your LO usually sleeps well though doesn't she? fingers crossed its only a small blip :D

She normally does fine at night and then is variable during the day. Last few daysshe's not been very interested in sleeping in the daytime. Wouldn't bother me if I wasn't so exhausted too. That and she is clearly really tired. What with being ill and rowing last week its taken it out of me. Mind you, bursting into tears earlier turned out to be the way to stop her crying - funniest thing ever aparently. :rotfl:

Have ventured out to the supermarket for [strike]chocolate[/strike] that magic stuff to rescue your clothes when you accidentally tie-die them in the wash. And I accidentally got 3 big bars of chocolate covered marzipan. And I accidentally fell on one with my mouth on the way home. Feel better for that too.

Have given in and given baby some calpol - she feels warm to me, and I'm boiling after walking to the shop, and if I'm ill chances are she's fighting it off too. She is currently having a mega feed and if i can hold off coughing for long enough we may be in luck.

Maybe that bird pooing on me on the way home wasn't such a bad thing after all - that's meant to be lcky right? Oh and Sami- why on earth have you got beige carpet?!!!! Ours are bad enough and they are dark green!

Great news all round Elle, you must be so excited :T:T

Well done to all the sleepy babies last night, long may it continue, glad the CIO is working so quickly Bruno, I remember how tough it can be but its so worth it in the end.

I seem to be running into BF problems, everything had been going fine, but this last 2 days, its like the abilitly to latch on has disappeared. It seems there is so much milk coming out and making booby wet, she cant get a grip on it anymore - cue lots and lots of repositioning and me sitting like a statue when I finally get latched on properly, any suggestions on what im doing wrong or how to fix this would be really appreciatted. TIA

I think Fritha beat me to it but try expressing a little if your boobs are over-full. Also, don't be afraid to give your nipples a good squeeze to get them into nipple shapes IYSWIM! 'Soft' nipples don't provide the same ease of latch IMHO.

My 5 year old is still scared of the vac!

If I open my mouth a little wider I might be able to fit the other foot in too!!

Oh and Elle - hoorah for travel cot. Just in the nick of time :) I'd recommend getting it up as soon as possible. Ours was a real **** the first time we tried to put it up - took us nearly an hour, we were just about ready to lob it out of the window!

I seem to have an overactive letdown now, lots of milk comes out at once, and Toby can't swallow it fast enough. Lots of milk goes everywhere and he falls off. I just wipe him and me and reposition and carry on.

Is she gassy? Does she 'click' or clamp down? How old is she now?

    Have a read here:

    Thanks, Fritha & MFD

After reading that link, I think I must have the oversupply, its literally dripping all over the place before I can get her on. They're not hard but do tingle and leak quite a bit inbetween feeds. I have been drying them but its still hard to get her positioned and keep her there.

Im going to try expressing beforehand to slow the flow. It will be handy to build up a supply anyway.

I have a new breast pump, but no steriliser yet , I've just read the instructions and the parts need sterilised first, is this really necessary.

My logic is that my boobs aren't being sterilised and they're ok! I can understand used bottles being sterilised, but these are new parts. Its unlikely I can get a steriliser before the morning.

    :rotfl: at your 'lucky' fall

Why is it that the minute baby starts to nod off you need to cough / sneeze / sniff / clear your throat / basically do anything which will waken baby so you have to start at the beginning again

Benjamin is doing 30 mins snoozing 30 mins awake today strange boy!! I just hope he is getting some quality z's in because we are supposed to be going out for dinner tonight with hubbys family.

We are off to the Miller and Carter (yummy) Steakhouse because all hubbys family are off to Cyprus tomorrow (boo - no babysitter for 2 weeks!!). Although having said that...SIL will probably be with niece who is hopefully in labour now - if not she will end up on the horrible drip that I had! Lets hope she manages to have baby before Wed when her mom is due to go on holiday (is anybody following this???)

I guess I am going to be on baby relief duty for the next 2 weeks, not sure how I will manage it with Benjamin but I am sure we can muddle through.

Its ok you were right, get them used to it now.

She used to yell when I vacced when she was tiny so I used to do it when she was asleep at night or before I picked her up from the childminders when I went back to work, I thought she would grow out of it and she is better, she still doesn't like it but now I can say go up to your room if you don't like it!

We used to have tears and nightmares for days if she saw the streetsweeper ones that run along the pavement/road edges!

Aside from the logistical challenge, I bet that would really hurt :(
