Just trying to be a proper big boobie and provide alarming sandwiches! Actually it was little boobie that was the purveyor of dodgy sandwiches wasn't it?

I got a call on Wednesday to discuss going for La Leche training, didn't pick the message up until Friday tea time so I need to call her back today. So soon, I may really be a big/little/medium boobie :-)

LOL - I worry that you actually listen to all the carp I waffle :rotfl:

Yay for Fritha's all-size-boobies!! I think you will make an excellent counsellor!

ooh we're turning into the DFW board they have meet ups (The thought really sets off my anxiety tho - I don't like being slightly mental :()

That's not mental Sami...the thought of meeting you ladies makes me nervous too - but it would be better to meet loads of you at once than one at a time - that way I don't need to speak to anyone for too long if I don't like them :rotfl::rotfl:

Whee, Elijah slept through last night, 7.30 to 7.20! One of only a few times he's slept through in his life... he did have a 5 minute wail before going to sleep, but it really wasn't too bad, never reached top levels of frenzy. Early days but it does so far seem like crying it out has worked really quickly :| which if true is good but I still hate it. Silly babies.

LOVE the baby in the suitcase! I want to buy a suitcase and go stay somewhere now purely to do that :D

YAY Elijah!!! I am so pleased for you Bruno and I really hope Elijah keeps it up for you :D

Would be interesting to know if he was a better behaved baby today too? It must have been making him really cranky not getting enough sleep.

Benjamin slept from 7.45pm til 6.30am so we are going great guns too!

Feelie - just vacuum anyway...there are some things that can't be done to suit baby. Can you imagine having a 5 year old that still moans when you turn the hoover on? It does happen!!!

But he really cried! Oh dear, I'm definitely going to have a spoilt baby aren't I?

I'd come to and up north meet, but I don't think my Mum would let me. I'd be staying with her, and she barely lets me hold the baby, let alone take him out of the house!

Just distract him with a toy he likes and maybe some noise (singing?) he likes, then start the vacuum anyway; even if it shocks him and he cries, if a fun thing is right in front of him he's more likely to be re-distracted by it. Can also try to start the vacuum further away and then move it gradually nearer while he plays?

...you could always leave the hoovering til he goes to school ;)

brilliant!!! I've now read 4 books from cover to cover and all of them suggest thte CIO or CC method, although some really push it as the only option, others offer it while recognising it's not for everyone. I'm really keen to try it - but OH really isn't keen. we've been up since 3.30am this morning with an hours sleep 7-8am. She had her normal 9.30am nap at 10am. I'm still hoping for a decent lunchtime sleep for both her and me!!! I'm glad it's working for you Bruno. Any tips????:rotfl:

A number of years ago when MSE was still small and young I went to an edinburgh meet up and it was great - really nice and interesting people and I didn't really know them that well virtually - it would be great to meet you guys!!!

Don't worry you are not mental!

Well done Elijah - Clever boy! :T

Am I the only one not scared of meeting you lot? I know you all already - we've been friends for about a year now (most of you!). Ooops - am I getting internet and real life confused again.

Bring her with you! I'd say sod the hoovering - the dirt will still be there when he's grown up and doesn't want to spend time with you. And if you leave it long enough, it won't look any worse! :rotfl:

I've just been to have my hair cut and had to take Violet with me. She was a little angel and kept the old ladies in the hairdressers occupied. (I think its half price perms and blue rinses on a Monday!) As soon as someone says 'ooh, aren't you beautiful' she rewards them with a big gummy grin! I'm sure she knows what they're saying! Her name is also popular with the older people, As soon as I say Violet, they say that was my mother/aunties/sister/best friends name! :rotfl:

my LO doesn't like the hoover if I start it when she can't see what the noise is:confused: so I just wheel her round with me in her walker, or start hoovering where she is - it's not an issue when I do it that way:rotfl:

    Morning all!
My baby can roll over, dont actually know when they usually do, he's 13 weeks now.
I put him on his back under his playgym thingy and went into the kitchen, when I came back he was on his tummy, why do they always do it when noones around?
Ryan is definatley got a cold :(
He slept really well last night, bottle at 10.15pm, straight back to sleep then woke up at 5am!
We are waiting to see if DS1's school is being shut because of swine flu, there are 2 cases and they said if they get one more case, school is gonna shut
